1931 - Ford Model A on 2040-cars
Maxwell, Iowa, United States
This beautifully restored model A has the correct two tone green with black fenders finish, and Tacoma Cream wheels. Equipped with a grill guard, luggage rack and cowl lights this piece of American history is as fun to drive as it is to own! It also has the correct dark tan broadcloth interior and the brown leatherette rumble seat in perfect condition. This 1931 coupe delivers an authentic old car experience with a classic look that makes the Model A, a perennial favorite. This older restoration on this coupe still looks fresh having been driven low miles since it was finished. The tough little 201 cubic inch inline four cylinder performs well and the 40 hp will surprise you. It still has the original Zenith updraft carburetor and a standard generator that has recently been rebuilt. The cooling system has been flushed and all hoses and fan belt replaced. This car runs on 19-inch wire wheels that are correct and fitted with new 4.75/5.00-19 black wall tires. Also comes with dual spares mounted on the sides. Odometer shows 4,457 miles but unable to authenticate. Extras include: Otwell Engine Health Heater manifold, a spare tire mounted rear view mirror, and several service and owners manuals.

Chip Foose tastefully enhances his personal Ford GT
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Typically, we'd expect a vehicle from 2006 to fall well short of a more modern vehicle, both in terms of performance and style. Of course, the Ford GT is not your average offering from the Bush era. That's doubly true when the 2006 GT in question belongs to one Chip Foose.
Purchased by his wife as a 50th birthday present, Foose is showing his custom, personalized GT at the 2014 SEMA Show. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 breathes a bit easier thanks to a full Magnaflow Performance exhaust, but Foose's GT isn't all about the performance.
Instead, the car customizer extraordinaire has focused on tasteful aesthetic enhancement, tweaking the rear end by removing the bumper and trimming the frame extensions. The wheels, meanwhile, are one-off aluminum alloys, designed by Foose himself. Like the stripes, the wheels feature orange accenting.
Project Ugly Horse: Part VI
Thu, 21 Mar 2013Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
Ford increasing Super Duty production by 15 percent
Fri, 31 Jan 2014Ford has announced a hefty $80 million investment in its Kentucky Truck Plant, which is responsible for building the F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 versions of the Super Duty pickup. The influx of cash will add 350 jobs to the factory.
The investment is also good for a 15-percent increase in annual production thanks to retooling and other facility upgrades, which equates to an extra 55,000 units of production. Considering that Ford makes even more money off its Super Duty than it does on the hot-selling F-150, this could mean some serious coin to Ford's bottom line.
