This Beautiful sedan was completed in March of 2013 and debuted as a display vehicle at the annual Hot Rod and Restoration show in Indianapolis. The car was also used on the banner of their website for this years show. The car has been in Street Scene Magazine and on Motor Head Garage. This car was inspired by the show cars of the 50's and 60's. Over the top body modifications and extreme attention to detail. Please take time to look over the pictures here and more on the Fod's Garage website. Photo from show is of Jezebel as well as other vehicles available for sale. We provide turn key customs as well as commissioned builds. If you have any questions contact me before placing a bid (fod@fodsgarage.com or (812) 216-0635). Don't know why anyone would assume anything different but the car is equipped with functioning, windows (all four), tilting windshield, headlights (high and low), tail lights, brake lights, turn signals, and horn. You get the idea. The speedo is not hooked up needs cable. Being listed as having 15 miles, this is aprox how many miles have been put on since build completion.

Exterior
We started with a solid original 1930 tudor sedan. The top was chopped a massive 7 inches. In order to retain correct proportions the body was sectioned 2 inches. Anyone familiar with custom cars will tell you the combination of these modifications is a tremendous amount of work. Any rust or previous poor repairs were cut out and replaced with new sheet metal. The body has also been channeled but not in the traditional manner. When looking in the door opening there is no step reducing interior room. This was accomplished by using a new sheetmetal floor and full custom chassis. The end result is head room equal to a channeled and 4 inch chopped A. The car has new wood throughout. Gaps were set far tighter and with more precision than anything Ford ever did. The body was wrapped in a beautiful three tone DuPont paint job. Topped of with old school pin stripes. A new high quality top was installed with mesh and padding. The grille shell is a new 28-29 grille with a woven stainless insert. The original model A headlights were fitted with halogen bulbs new lenses and turn signals in the housings. Wiring is sleeved with black woven cloth loom. Rear bumpers were added for a unique look.

Interior
Sitting in the driver seat you will see a Nash instrument cluster mounted in the center of a custom Model A dash. Cluster was sent out after reshaping to be chromed. The dash along with other metal trim inside the car is charcoal with black accents and maroon stripes to match the exterior. The inside of the car was primed, sealed and sound deadened prior to upholstery. The seat is a custom bench back style with bucket lowers. The seat bottoms as well as the back is contoured, not just a flat slab. Upholstery is done in black with ribbed charcoal inserts. The fuel tank has been located in the rear of the passenger compartment with a full firewall seperating it from the inside. The raised panel behind the seat houses the rear suspension. Fuel tank firewall, rear suspension cover, and transmission tunnel are all removable to allow access to all drivetrain from either inside or under the car. There are locations for storage on both sides behind the seat large enough for chairs, small cooler, cleaning supplies, and over night bags. The sedan also has a full headliner with dome lights. Interior is finished off with square weave black carpet.

Chassis
Jezebel sits on a full custom chassis. The lightening holes in the front have been sleeved. All joints in the frame have been plated for additional strength. Chassis is full TIG welded. Front axle has been smooth and drilled. Front brakes are new disc units from speedway motors as are the king pins and spindles. Steering is provided through a cowl mounted reversed Ford truck box mounted under the dash. Rear frame rails are mandrel bent. Rear suspension is 4 link with a diagonal bar for locating the 9 inch Ford axle. Coil overs are used for adjustable ride height. Plumbing and wiring are retained with stainless clamps, frame is drilled and tapped for attachment with stainless hardware. The brand new wheels along with all other chassis parts are powder coated black for high quality long lasting finish. Wheels are wrapped in new whitewall Firestone tires.

Drivetrain
Power is supplied by a 350 Chevy with a mild cam. Valve covers, air cleaner, and oil pan are finned cast aluminum. Custom headers are ceramic coated by Jet Hot. Transmission shifts firm and equipped with a finned aluminum pan. Cooling is provided by new radiator with electric fan and aluminum overflow tank.

Pages could be written covering all of the work and products used to complete this car. If you have any specific details you would like further information on feel free to contact me. I can not express the quality and attention to detail in this sedan. As previously stated this car has been published in print and on tv. This is without a doubt one of the nicest Model A's you will ever see! Thank you and good luck.

Legal type stuff

As is with all custom vehicles there may be items that do not conform to your local laws. Custom/hot rod vehicles are not factory production units and therefore many not perform as such. These could, but do not necessarily include: interior or air ride leaks, altered ride and handling characteristics, decreased visibility, modified or removed safety items, deeming them off road use only. Therefore all altered vehicles are sold for off road show purposes only. Fod's Garage is not responsible for any damage or injuries caused while operating this vehicle. This car is in good working order but is sold as is with no warranty or guarantees.

2015 Ford Mustang gets pricing, configurator and less weight than expected

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

It's here; it's finally here. No more speculating or looking at dealer order guides, the configurator for the 2015 Ford Mustang is finally online. That means you should put down whatever you're doing and build your new 'Stang. Weight data for the new model has also leaked out, and while there is an increase, it's less than previously rumored.
The basic V6 coupe carries a base price of $23,600, plus an additional $825 destination charge for all models. Upgrading to the 2.3-liter Ecoboost costs $25,170, and the Ecoboost Premium is $29,170. If you need a V8 in your life, the Mustang GT is $32,100 or $36,100 with the Premium package. That puts the starting price up about $1,000 over the previous generation for the V6, but the turbocharged four-cylinder starts about $1,400 less than the V6 Premium, which is no longer available. Prices for both V8 models jumped about $1,000, as well.
If you need the convertible Mustang, the V6 starts at $29,100, excluding destination, $1,590 more than last year. The Ecoboost Premium 'vert is $34,670, and the GT droptop is $41,600.

Mulally wanted to kill Lincoln as late as last year, Fields vows to turn it around

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Lincoln fans might want to give incoming Ford CEO Mark Fields a pat on the back for having a hand in saving the brand from the chopping block last year. He's among the people spearheading the rejuvenation of the division away from its stodgy image to appeal to younger customers.
According to two unnamed sources speaking to Bloomberg, CEO Alan Mulally was ready to kill Lincoln last year. Following the slow production ramp-up of the MKZ combined a with a costly ad campaign, Mulally was frustrated and openly suggested dropping the brand. However, Fields and Jim Farley, Ford's marketing boss, convinced the CEO that the brand was worth saving. They also created a plan to prevent similar problems for new models in the future.
It seems that one part of the strategy may involve waiting until new models are at dealers before starting a big ad campaign for them. Lincoln global director, Matt VanDyke, recently told Autoblog that the division is holding off on a full marketing push behind the new MKC crossover to prevent the supply problems that plagued the MKZ last year. Its big offensive begins in the fall when the CUVs are at all of the dealers and consumers are at home watching more TV. VanDyke also told Bloomberg that Fields, Farley and Joe Hinrichs, Ford president of the Americas, have more direct oversight over new product launches now.

Leno drives Henry Ford II's all-original '52 Ferrari 212 Barchetta

Tue, 17 Jun 2014

The story of the relationship between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari is absolutely fascinating. The two great men of the auto industry had what appeared to be a burgeoning friendship until Ferrari pulled out of a deal to sell his company to Ford in the '60s. The latest car featured in Jay Leno's Garage is a 1952 Ferrari 212 Barchetta that tells the very beginnings of that story.
This Prancing Horse was a gift to Ford from Enzo when the two companies were first thinking about merging, according to the curator of the Petersen Automotive Museum. Ferrari really wanted to show off its best so instead of the 212's normal V12, this car was fitted with the larger 2.7-liter unit from a Ferrari 225. The car has been almost unaltered since then. It still wears its original paint, and it's tires date back to 1954.
The great thing about the Petersen is that unlike a lot of auto museums, the people there actually drive the cars and keep them in working order. Once on the road with Leno behind the wheel, this Ferrari really sings. Unfortunately, he can't open it up too much because the 60-year-old tires really hold things back. Scroll down to watch this amazing piece of automotive history and learn it's possible effect on the styling of the original Ford Thunderbird.
