1930 Ford Model A Extended Cab Pickup, Rat Rod Starter Kit, Hot Rod Project on 2040-cars
Venice, Florida, United States
For sale, 1930 Ford model A pickup project , RAT ROD starter kit. Here is the start to a very cool rat rod. A 1930 cab that has been extended 12", chopped 5", sectioned 4"{bottom 4" cut off to make it sit lower}, and I was planning on channeling it 3" . Has a shortened and narrowed bed from a 1959 Chevy pickup,a 1957 Chevy hood I was going to use the skin for the roof top mounted backwards, chrome bullets included, I also have the front window frame which has already been chopped 5", and an old Chevy tailgate I was going to chop up and use. I also have the side roof panels for the top. The body is just clamped together so you can get an idea what it will look like. This is a project and will need a lot of work , a lot of welding , it will need an inner structure welded in, there are no subrails in it, I was just going to use 1" steel tubing. This will be in pieces when you come to get it, as I said, it is just clamped together for mockup. I do have a clear West Virginia title and vin. tag that comes with it. This has the potential to be one very cool Rat Rod. This truck can sit here for awhile as long as it is paid for in advance, while you make arrangements for pickup or delivery.

Ford F-150 bumps Camry from top of Cars.com American Made Index
Tue, 25 Jun 2013With July 4th just around the corner, what better time could there be for Cars.com to announce that the Ford F-150 is the Most American car of 2013? This may be especially true since it was the Toyota Camry, a car produced by a company based in Japan, that had held the top spot from 2009 to 2012.
Cars.com compiles its Most American list by considering the amount of parts each vehicle uses that come from America, where it's final assembly takes place and how many units per year are sold. "While the assembly point and domestic parts content of the F-150 didn't change from 2012-2013, vehicle sales are responsible for bumping the F-150 to the top spot," according to Patrick Olsen, Editor-in-Chief of Cars.com.
As far as automakers go (as opposed to individual models), Toyota retains the top spot it held in 2012, with General Motors, Chrysler, Ford and Honda (in that order) rounding out the list. The motivation behind this list each year, according to Olsen, is "to help car shoppers understand that 'American-Made' extends beyond just the Detroit three" and because "a study we conducted in 2012 indicated that 25 percent of shoppers surveyed preferred to buy American."
Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman
Mon, 11 Nov 2013If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.

2015 Ford Mustang revs it up at Cars & Coffee
Mon, 09 Dec 2013Just because the new 2015 Ford Mustang has officially been released, you didn't think that would be the end of the matter - did you? Of course not. There'll still be plenty of rumors, reports and video footage to bring you. Like this, the first non-official footage of the new pony car in the wild.
Shot by YouTube user SotA1080 and dug up by our friends at CarBuzz, this clip shows the new Mustang posing for photos (alongside other Mustangs) and starting up its engine at the most recent gathering of Cars & Coffee in Irvine, CA. And this being the GT model, it's not packing the V6 or the turbo four, but the red-blooded 5.0-liter V8 that tells us and enthusiasts worldwide that the new Mustang has not lost its way. Scroll on down to watch the footage for yourself.
