1929 Barn Fresh Ford Model A Sport Coupe on 2040-cars

Year:1929 Mileage:99999
Location:

1929 Ford Model A Sport Coupe
Beautiful example of an original Henry Ford steel car. Straight, solid, rust free body and fenders, no patch panels, runs and drives, car was stored in Sandwich NH for years (been in Sandwich since when it was bought new) recently has transferred through a couple of owners. I don't believe the car has ever been taken apart, appears to have had one repaint many years ago. Fenders are in excellent shape, no cracked beads or any repaired beads. Body is near perfect, I could not find any signs of rust or patch panels. This is a barn fresh car that has been cleaned up, car has great patina, very presentable (up close paint has minor scratches/ chips here and there). Great car to drive and enjoy this summer. Distributer just rebuilt with modern upper and lower plate.

I believe the rumble seat upholstery is original, shows wear and has some minor tears and has cotton strings attached because previously had a seat cover(with a little bit of elbow grease seat should clean up).  The rumble seat cover matched the front seat, previous owner carefully removed cover.  I have the cover and it could be very easily installed again (seat covers are old but in great shape).  Front seat still has seat cover installed (refer to pics), feels like original upholstery is underneath, condition of upholstery under cover is unknown.  Top is in fair condition for its age, refer to pictures.  Windows roll up and down nice, all glass in good condition.

Car can be seen in Rochester NH. Would love to keep this car, but don't have the space.  Its getting harder and harder to find straight solid vehicles of this vintage.

NOTE: NH does not require titles for this year vehicle.  This is being sold with a bill of sale only (I can get it notarized if you would like).

Ford recalls select Explorer, E-Series vans

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Just a few days ago we brought you news that Ford had issued a recall on 28,000 units of the Edge crossover for problems related to the fuel line. But now the Blue Oval has issued recall notices on two more of its larger vehicles.
The first relates to the Explorer, 395 examples of which from the 2011 and 2012 model years were found to have problems with their steering systems if they underwent service after September 1, 2013. An apparent software glitch could lock the steering gear, preventing the driver from steering the vehicle and thereby increasing the risk of a crash. As a result, Ford dealers are being instructed to check their records to identify the problematic vehicles and bring them in to have the steering gear replaced. Details of the recall can be found in the PDF linked here.
The second problem revolves around E-Series vans that may develop bubbles in their windshields under hot temperatures. The decrease in visibility through the problematic windshield could - you guessed it - "increase the risk of a crash." As a result, Ford is calling in 4,532 units of the E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans built in the relatively short window between May 12 and May 26, 2011. Details of this recall can be found in the notice below from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Amazon looking to bring Kindle to your next car?

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Maybe so. The online retailer and digital media monolith recently announced the Amazon Cloud Player, an application for Ford Sync that allows users to stream media from their Amazon Cloud account directly to a Ford vehicle. This foray into automotive technology got the minds at Gigaom.com thinking about what could be next for Amazon. As Kevin Fitchard writes, the logical step is to make audio versions of your Kindle library selections available in your car. As he points out, Amazon has already laid the groundwork for such a move.
Amazon pulled the sheets back on Whispersync for Voice last year. The tech pairs ebooks with an Audible book for a small extra fee, allowing users to either read along with a narrator or switch between audio and text versions on command. Fitchard says it wouldn't be some great leap to apply the same principles to a car, where voice recognition software would allow users to pause or select chapters without ever taking their eyes off of the road.
It all sounds just fine to us, but Amazon hasn't said a thing about such a move. Still, we wouldn't be surprised to see the company come down this road in the near future just the same.

Watch Piquet and Mansell bend some sheetmetal in Ford Fusion GP

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

As we told you about before, there were four episodes planned for the Ford Fusion GP campaign in Brazil, and the whole series has now run its course. The Ford ads pit Brazilian Formula One driver Nelson Piquet against English F1 pilot Nigel Mansell driving the new Fusion, the two coming together again after their partnership at the Williams F1 team ended in a miserable state more than 20 years ago.
They're lined up for you below, in reverse chronological order. You should watch number three first, though, as it adds a bit more spice to the NASCAR action in the fourth.
