One owner, all original, 1962 Ford Galaxie with only 96,000 actual miles. Equipped with a 292 Y-Block V8 and 3-speed manual transmission with column shift, padded dash, deluxe two-tone white interior. Was driven daily by a woman until 2004 when she quit driving. Regular maintenance and repairs were always done on time and immediately by the same local repair shop in town for the entire life of the vehicle. The car had been sitting until last year when I acquired it. I have buffed and polished the original paint (two-tone burgandy and white top) and it looks really nice for a weathered but clean 'PATINA' look with the two-toned paint faded away but shiny. Throw a coat of wax on it regularly and preserve it for another 20 years. Original hub caps are included although not shown in the pictures. I have ran the engine with an electric transfer pump and a gas can, and it runs like a watch-clean, quiet and smooth as silk. I have overhauled the carburetor and reinstalled it, but have not replaced the fuel filters or the rubber hoses. Therefore I have not ran it on its own fuel tank. It wouldn't hurt to clean the tank first. This car is equipped with a factory optional auxiliary canister fuel filter, so there are two filters. I have also replaced the brake master cylinder, and removed the weathered and worn carpet. I have new fuel filters and new front wheel cylinders that should be installed. The original headliner, door trim panels, sail panels, quarter trim panels, and trunk mat is all intact and in very good condition so I have not removed it. The car will need front seat upholstery, carpet, and the dash pad is cracked. It will need a new ignition lock cylinder or switch but I have correct keys for the car. The right front floor pan is rusted through but easily replaceable and only $67, the driver front floor pan is somewhat rusted but not through the metal. The battery tray is rusted as well. The car will also need a battery. The tires are not road worthy and the left front only holds air for a few days and the right rear only for a few hours. I had hopes of getting the drivetrain all in good working order and driving it, but I am moving and do not have time to fix it and I already have too many vehicles that will be going into indoor storage.

Ford moving medium-duty F-Series production from Mexico to Ohio

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

A few more Ford trucks will be built in the US in the near future with news that production of the F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks will move from Mexico to Ford's Ohio Assembly Plant in Avon Lake, OH. Ford hasn't confirmed a precise timeline for the move, but The Detroit News claims the Blue Oval will make the shift later this year or in early 2015.
As Ford spokesperson Mike Levine reminded us, back in 2011, Ford announced in an investor release that it would shift production "after the [Ohio] plant stops current production of the Ford E-Series vans." According to that release, the Ohio factory will also receive $128 million in upgrades to build the new trucks, plus the F53 motorhome chassis and F59 commercial chassis.

2015 Ford F-150 gets Power Wheels treatment [w/video]

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

With the introduction of its forthcoming 2015 F-150, Ford is breaking with convention by shifting from steel-intensive construction to aluminum. But what if it weren't made of metal altogether? What if it were made of plastic instead, and packed an electric motor instead of an internal-combustion engine?
Feast your eyes, boys and girls, on the new Power Wheels F-150. Built by Fisher-Price and licensed by Ford, the third-generation ride-on toy started development nine months before the full-size version debuted at the Detroit Auto Show this past January, and is hitting sidewalks and driveways across the country this September.
The Power Wheels F-150 carries a sticker price of $349.99, and there's a special version at Toys R Us with LED headlamps (just like the real F-150) for an extra $10.

Shelby American cleans house of 14 concept cars

Wed, 25 Jun 2014

Typically when an automaker rolls out a concept car or pre-production prototype, it does its tour and then disappears into the company's archives. Maybe it will be displayed for the public to see in the company's own museum or maybe it will spend most of its time under covers in a warehouse somewhere, but every once in a while, an automaker will open up its history and start selling off its concept cars. For Shelby American, "once in a while" has just rolled around.
The House that Carroll Built is moving from its previous headquarters at Las Vegas Motor Speedway to a new facility off of the Las Vegas strip, and in the process is liquidating fourteen of the rarest cars in its collection. That presents a tremendous opportunity for muscle car collectors to bring one or more of these snakes home.
As you might expect, the catalog is composed mostly of Mustangs, but not exclusively. There's a pair of 289 Cobras: the last of the 50th anniversary slab-sided continuation cars and an original development vehicle, offered at $200,000 apiece. At the other end of the spectrum you'll find the 2013 Shelby Raptor concept for $125k and Focus concept for $50k. And of course there are the Mustangs.
