1965 Ford Galaxie Country Sedan, Customized, Lowered, california Car Driven Daily on 2040-cars

US $17,500.00
Year:1965 Mileage:65000
Location:

Up for consideration is my 1965 Ford Country Sedan that has been customized. This was a California car all it's life until I bought it.

The car has been lowered, door handles shaved, bodywork and paint and custom pinstriping were done in CA.

I have redone the mechanicals ( new brakes, tires, shocks, exhaust system, tune up/ fluids, new wiper motor, new fan motor, rebuilt carb, rad flush, etc.) and installed a new custom interior and automatic door poppers on the front doors with hidden switches.

This is a fabulous highway cruising car and I have used it for work projects out of town and out of state, taken it to antique car swap meets in different states to load up parts for our collection of cars, picked up replated bumpers and loaded the car with tires from Coker Tire in TN to bring back home etc.  As you can see, it is not a show car but a very cool, unusual  and practical fun car.

v8, auto, ps, pb and that is it.  Currently shows under 65000 miles ( I have put over 20,000. miles on the car ) and I believe it is original since there is no rust on the car and based on the wear.  The rear electric window in the tailgate works well.  The car could use new weatherstripping all around and if you wanted to install a stereo you could ( it has the original AM radio ) but I don't listen to the radio when I drive so it never bothered me.

As this is a 49 year old used car it is being sold as/ is, with no warranties.

If you want photos of something not showing, or have questions, or want to see/ drive the car, just email.  I would have no hesitation driving this car across the country anytime.  As I said, I take it on long road trips and it has never had a problem with me.

I collect old Pontiac's and this is the only  non-Pontiac car in my collection ( not counting the old cars my wife has) so I am redoing an old Pontiac wagon in the same style as this Ford which is the only reason I am putting this up for sale.

2015 Ford Mustang option prices gallop onto the web

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The 2015 Ford Mustang is one of the most anticipated cars of the year, despite the fact that production hasn't yet begun. What's a pony car fan to do? It turns out that Ford already has pricing and options information about the vehicle in its dealer ordering system. A few enterprising folks have snapped some pictures from it and have posted them online. You might not be able to drive your car yet, but you can at least see what it might cost.
At the moment, Ford appears to be splitting the Mustang into five models - 3.7-liter V6, 2.3-liter EcoBoost, GT with the 5.0-liter V8, 50th Anniversary and SVT. There are 10 available paint colors, 2 of which require an extra outlay. Triple Yellow is $495, and Ruby Red Tint is $395. Regardless of model, navigation goes for $795, and reverse parking assist is $295.
For both the EcoBoost and GT, the six-speed automatic tacks an extra $1,195 to the sticker, and adaptive cruise control is the same price. The GT also has a limited-slip 3.55 rear end for $395 and a GT Performance package for $2,495. Recaro leather seats add an extra $1,595. For the EcoBoost, there's something called EcoBoost Performance package for $1,995. The system doesn't say what the packages include.

Focus STs for SEMA include Lotus and Gulf liveries, rally-fied police car

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ford, as we mentioned on Saturday, is pulling out all the stops for November's SEMA show, bringing 57 vehicles to the Las Vegas event. Ford will be staggering the release of its SEMA flotilla, though, so expect to hear a lot about the new additions to the fleet in the weeks to come. We already showed you the Fiesta, Fiesta ST and Mustang models that made up the first batch of SEMA cars. Next up, we have a quartet of modded Focus STs joining Ford's SEMA roster.
Our first Focus ST (pictured above) sports the legendary livery of Gulf Racing. The orange-on-blue scheme, which Ford helped make famous at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, has been updated for 2013, with a more vibrant blue. This ST was built by Universal Technical Institute, while the exterior was done by Neil Tjin of Tjin Edition. Side exhausts, a Vortech supercharger and a Motiv Concepts high-flow cat allow the ST to breathe a bit easier, while Forgestar wheels contrast well with the iconic paint scheme.
Focus ST number two has been done-up by PM Lifestyle and is inspired by "Southern California car culture." Sporting a sleek, pale blue paint job, there's also no shortage of carbon fiber on the car's exterior. The 2.0-liter, turbocharged, four-cylinder engine has been massaged by the likes of Banks Power, COBB Tuning and Ford Racing, while the suspension is wearing a shiny, new set of coilovers and sway bars. The meaty brakes, tucked behind 19-inch, Rotiform wheels, come from Wilwood, while the cabin has been fitted with a pair of Sparco Chrono seats and five-point, Schroth harnesses.

RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success

Tue, 04 Dec 2012

The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
