1962 Ford Galaxie Hardtop on 2040-cars

Have a good look at this unrestored, unmolested, low milage, one owner, 1962 Galaxie Hardtop. There are plenty of very nice restorations around but a car like this is very hard to find with only 41,682 miles on it.  Everything on this car is original,  the body is as straight as it came from the factory. The bottom of the rockers are rust free.  This car was undercoated when it was new, not recently to cover up anything, but when it was new. You can see this from the underside of the hood and the wheelwells in the pictures. The only flaw I can see in the body is the right rear fender where you can see a spot of paint coming off. It looks like perhaps something fell on the top of it because there is no damage to the bumper or any of the tailight trim. Instead of spotting the paint it was painted up to the door so this fender has a little more shine to it than the rest. Buffing the rest should make it about equal. All the glass is amazingly good but does need the piece of rubber between the front and rear window glass replaced. There is a very minor dent in the rear bumper that you can see in the pictures. The front bumper is straight and only has some small blemishes in the chrome on the right corner. There is not a single rip or tear in the upholstery. The worst thing you can say about the seats is that they have faded just a little over time. The headliner is in great shape but does need the plastic lens on the dome light. The steering wheel is very nice but does have some of the color worn off. All the brightwork trim is very good and only needs some polishing on some of it. The carpet is good but is faded from light. The engine compartment appears to be all original and complete. It has not been cleaned up and has the 52 years of dirt and a little grease and oil. I could clean this real easy but this car really is a time capsule like it is so I will leave it up to the next owner to suite his taste. The car runs and drives good, Has a 352 cu in engine, the tires are good, has radio and heater, power steering, and cruiseamatic transmission that works good. Absolutly no rust in the floors or trunk, even the gas tank was undercoated. I have tried to mention every flaw I could find, which is not many, but please ask any question you have. If you would like to call, my number is 478-231-4848. I had to mark clear title to get it a list but it is sold with a Georgia bill of sale and a current registration. Cars older than 1963 do not have titles in ga. and a number of other states. It is easy to obtain a title in most states that require one with the bill of sale and reg. One can be obtained for a fee if it's needed in your state.  If you are a -O- feedback bidder, please call before bidding.

Mustang driver proves wheels are overrated

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

We don't need to tell you that there's something missing in the image above. What we do need to tell you is that this is not a picture of a parked car stranded on the highway. This is, rather, just one frame from video of that three-wheeled Mustang traveling down the highway at highway-appropriate speed.
We don't know where you'd have to be nor how badly you'd have to be there to go shooting down the freeway in a car with three wheels, but if the New Daily News is correct, that place is somewhere in Texas. The video's short, but you'll have plenty of time to shake your head at it by just scrolling down.

Ford won't be releasing GT500 lap times for the 'Ring, or any other car

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

Trucks have towing capacity, EVs have driving range and performance cars have Nürburgring lap times. What do all three have in common? They should all be taken with a grain of salt. Currently, there is no sanctioned way to record lap times or verify production-spec cars - a lesson we recently learned with the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo - and until there is a way to do so (and there probably never will be), we'll never officially know the actual time it took for Ford to lap the 'Ring with its ultra-powerful Shelby GT500.
After posting a Ford-made video of a 2013 GT500 running around the 'Ring, the guys over at SVTPerformance.com (an enthusiasts forum not affiliated with Ford or SVT) wanted more answers. They got in touch with Ford's Global Performance Vehicle Chief Engineer Jamal Hameedi, who said until there is a way to verify the times and inspect the cars, Ford will not get involved with lap-time wars. In the email, Hameedi pointed out that the 'Ring is a useful tool in that it allows a wide spectrum of track conditions, but until there is a governed way to record times, there is no way to accurately compare cars head-to-head.
And as much as some may not like it, Hameedi speaks the truth. It really isn't possible to compare times from one car to another, unless those cars were lapping the same track at the same time with the same driver. Not that any of this means there won't be continuous wars by fans and manufacturers alike... in other words, feel free to voice your opinions in the Comments below.

Ring Brothers shows 1965-66 Mustang fastback carbon fiber body

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

We covered one of Ring Brothers' more extreme SEMA builds yesterday, the De Tomaso Pantera-based ADRNLN, but if that well-executed but over-the-top Italian-American exotic is too much for you, then perhaps this Ring Brothers 1965 Ford Mustang fastback with a carbon-fiber body suits your tastes better.
What the performance-parts manufacturer is showcasing with the Mustang is the carbon-fiber body itself, which is fashioned around the 1965-66 fastback. It can be bought from the company and bonded to the skin and unibody as a do-it-yourself project, or you can take your Mustang to Ring Brothers and have the body installed there. The fenders, doors and quarter panels are two-inches wider than stock, and Ring Brothers offers a custom widebody chassis to those who want the complete package.
The show car looks sharp in person lowered on HRE wheels, and we appreciate the bare front end so we can see the supercharged V8 and front coilover suspension, though the details on those performance upgrades are slim. Also note the custom independent rear suspension setup at the rear.
