Up for auction is a very nice, low mileage 2005, 2 door, hatchback ford focus. This is a very clean, one owner car with no rust and it runs great. It has a 2.0 (4 cyl ) engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. It comes with 2 sets of wheels & tires, The winter tires on steel rims are currently on the car and there is a set of very nice alluminum wheels with summer tires included. The previus owner installed a K&N air intake system and LED after market tail lights (original airbox and tail lights are include if you wish to put it back original) It also has a custom muffler that gives it a nice little rumble. When this car is washed and waxed it will look like new (we have been driving it so it is a little dirty in the pics) The car starts, runs, drives and stops perfect, To sum it all up, This is a great running, low mileage, one owner car with no rust and very sharp looking, This car books for $6500 and I am selling it way below book value. I am a vt licensed used car dealer and I can provide a in-transit plate at no extra charge if you are from outside of vt and wish to drive it home. I am about 50 miles from the Burlington international airport and I have a guy that will meet you there and bring you to my dealership for $100 cash, I am only 15 miles from the Amtrak station in Randolph and I can meet you there with the car if you wish to come in on the train. With the Pebble Beach festivities kicking off this week, including any number high end car auctions, we thought it would be entertaining to compile a list of some to the most expensive cars ever sold with the bang of a gavel. Trouble is, once you get past the splendor of everyone's favorite Italian sports car maker, that list is pretty boring.
Ferrari dominates the all-time auction sales list; seven of the top ten most expensive cars sold wear the Cavallino Rampante badge, as well as more than half of the top fifty. Sure, a nearly $30-million Mercedes-Benz W196 racecar might be the new top dog as of last year, but it's even possible that Ferrari could take that title back in Monterey this weekend. Long story short: we think a list of the most expensive American cars ever sold at auction is a lot more entertaining to read. Hell, our list has a friggin' Batmobile on it, how can it go wrong?

Ford to pay $17.35 million over Escape recall
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Ford had a bit of a recall spree around this time last year, with a pair of issues on the then-new 2013 Escape, followed by a recall of 423,000 2001 to 2004 Escapes because they might accelerate of their own accord. Accordingly, Uncle Sam pasted Ford with a $17.35 million fine because it took too long to inform customers, according to a report from Automotive News.
Ford agreed to settle with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accepting the fine but not admitting fault. The recall, which afflicted Escapes with the 3.0-liter V-6 along with 217,000 Mazda Tributes from 2001 to 2006 and 2008, was due to faulty gas pedals that could stay down after a driver removed their foot.
Ford issued a statement regarding the fine, saying, "We take the safety of our customers seriously and continuously evaluate our processes for improvements. While we are confident in our current processes for quickly identifying and addressing potential vehicle issues, Ford agreed to this settlement to avoid a lengthy dispute with the government."
