1970 1/2 Ford Falcon Not Fairlane Torino on 2040-cars

This Falcon is in very good condition mechanically as well as body. The 250 CI six runs well and the C4 automatic shifts great. This Fairlane based Falcon, though a six cylinder, does have five lug wheels. I bought the car last year from the original owner intending to install a big block V8 (V8 motor mounts are in the trunk) but I have too many projects and the drive train is really too nice to abandon anyway. The interior is in good shape but the front bench seat needs recovered as the driver's side is bad. Paint is good, as is, but the driver's door does not fit well. Maybe some adjustment would help. There's also a small dent, as shown in picture, at the top edge of the trunk lid. Rust is not an issue. I'm comfortable driving it anywhere and do often. The power steering makes this full size ride easy to maneuver. It's a great cruiser for a very low price as is, or could be turned into a hot rod if you choose. This model Falcon was only made the last five months of the 1970 model year so you won't see yourself coming and going like some other models. I've also inserted a picture of one of four 20" wheels I have from a 98 Mustang. Two of the tires are brand new and the other two have about half their life left. I'll include all four for an additional $500 if the buyer would like to have them. I haven't tried them on the car but think they'd fit. Ford to show special edition Raptor on April 9
Mon, 01 Apr 2013There are precious few details, but what we do know is that Ford will be revealing images of "appearance upgrades" for a special-edition 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor on April 9. The slideshow will happen during a Motor Press Guild luncheon at Ford's Design Center Showroom in Irvine, California.
Without photos or further details, we're left to wonder about the extent of these changes, but aren't expecting anything too significant given the venue. Ford is understood to be revealing a next-generation F-150 with a big weight loss - as much as 700 pounds - for 2014, though it isn't yet clear if that's the truck's model year or simply its on-sale year. For at least a couple of years, Ford forums have been suggesting changes will come with the 2014 Raptor, so there could still be a bigger surprise in store. Either way, we'll know what all this means in a little more than a week. The press release below has the official details, but for the moment, we'll content ourselves by ogling the 2013 model above.
Are you a new Ford Mustang SVO? [w/video]
Fri, 16 May 2014When Ford announced that its 2015 Mustang would arrive with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, three letters came to mind: SVO. While Ford hasn't said a word regarding the rebirth of a Mustang SVO model, this latest set of spy shots shows us something very, very interesting. Allow us to explain.
The Mustang prototype in these photos looks very similar to the GT500 test cars we've spotted before - same bulging hood, aggressive front fascia and air vents aft of the front wheels. What's different, however, is around back. Have a look at the exhaust, and note that instead of the GT500's usual quad pipes, two of the exhaust outlets have been capped off.
Our spies point out that these exhaust outlets could be closed for some sort of emissions testing or another engineering reason, but it's also important to note that the engine and exhaust notes of this car sound completely different from earlier GT500 prototypes. We've got a video below that compares the two.
Man turns Ford Fiesta into a one-car band
Mon, 18 Nov 2013The one-man band is a rather ridiculous idea, drawing up images of one person attempting to manipulate several instruments, at once, in a vain attempt at creating music. It's usually represented by silly scenes like this. Interestingly, the concept isn't much more successful when the "man" in "one-man band" is replaced with "car," as we see in this video.
It seems that someone rigged up and edited (699 times, we might add) a Ford Fiesta, a bucket, 12 PVC pipes and the natural sounds that a car makes to come up with a song. Now, we don't recognize the tune, so we've no idea if this is a cover or an original piece. And while it's hardly Beethoven, we have to admire the amount of effort the "conductor" went to in his attempt to turn a subcompact car into a musical instrument(s).
