1965 Ford Falcon Futura Project Car on 2040-cars
Carlisle, Pennsylvania, United States
1965 Ford Falcon, Futura. The car was originally a 6 cylinder automatic (H) code. The car was last registered for the road, in New Jersey, in 1990. The car was disassembled by the previous owner in 2008. The previous owner also started to chemically strip the paint on the rear quarter panels and then lost interest. I purchased the car with the idea of making it into a drag car. I was most impressed by the lack of rust on the inner fenders and fire wall. As far as the body goes the doors are rust free, even on the bottom edge, the front fenders are rust free, the trunk is rust free, the hood is 95% rust free and the rockers are rust free, the roof is rust free also. The bottom of the rear quarter panels had metal put in and the body work was pretty good until the previous owner tried to strip them. The drivers floor pan was patched with sheet metal so its solid but does not look original and the torque boxes need repair. The passenger floor pan has a small area that needs repair and the rear pans are solid. I have all of the glass although one door window glass is broken, the front bumper is straight and looks OK depending on what you plan to do with the car. The rear bumper has some surface rust and a dent that appears easily repaired by a chrome shop. Although it appears most of the trim pieces are there I can't locate the body side trim.
I put this car "loosly" together in about an hour and got the body lines pretty close. With some serious attention the car could pretty straight. It does not appear to have ever been in a serious accident. This car is being sold as a project car. There is some rust, but over all, its a solid car to have some fun with as a race car or rat rod. The original seats are in the car and are in good shape with no tears or mouse nests. I will deliver this car within a 200 mile radius of Carlisle, Pa. for $1.25 per mile. The price is $1,500.00. This is a great project with out getting into a high dollar muscle car. Check out multiple pictures and other services at Tannersclassics.com. The car is offered for sale locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. |

2015 Ford Mustang already under recall, but just 53 units
Sun, 19 Oct 2014Ford has issued a small - but significant - recall for one of its spotlight cars: the 2015 Mustang.
The recall affects just 53 cars, with 50 in the United States and three in Canada. Ford said the passenger side safety belt buckle tension sensor may not have been calibrated properly by the supplier. This could lead to "misclassification" of the passenger seat occupant, and could cause the airbag to deploy improperly.
A Ford spokesperson didn't immediately respond to a request for comment. In a statement, the automaker said it is not aware of any accidents or injuries, and dealers will replace the buckle assembly at no cost to customers. The cars affected were built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan from Aug. 18 to Oct. 2.
Ford only automaker to make 2012 Buzz Rankings, Toyota most improved
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Ford landed itself a spot among the top 10 brands in the 2012 Buzz Rankings. The annual index scores 1,100 brands in 41 categories to determine which nameplates had the most positive buzz throughout the year.
For the third year in a row, Subway took the top honors overall with a score of 40.3, and Ford was the only automaker to break into the top 25 by earning a sixth-place finish overall. The manufacturer earned a score of 32.1 points, which was enough to push it up one spot from the 2011 Buzz Rankings. Honda managed 21.2 points overall, which is still well behind 25th-place Kohl's at 26.5 points. Toyota, Volkswagen and BMW all round out the top five automakers.
The 2012 Buzz Rankings also keep track of which brands improved the most over the past year, and this year, Toyota was the manufacturer with the largest leap forward. The Japanese automaker jumped from just 14 points in 2011 to 20.5 in 2012. Chrysler, Kia, Dodge and Volkswagen all saw sizable steps forward as well. 2015 Ford Mustang spied on video for the first time
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Not many cars will continue to hold our rapt attention quite like the upcoming redesigned 2015 Ford Mustang, codenamed S550 internally. Earlier this month, we brought you the first spy photos of a next-gen Mustang prototype out testing, and even though expertly placed cladding concealed the pony car's new shape, we could tell that underneath was hiding an altogether new form inspired by the Evos Concept from 2011.
Today we give you some video of what looks to be the same Mustang prototype, which you can watch below, and while the budding director behind the camera wasn't able to capture much in the way of the engine's audio signature, we can see the car in motion for the first time and compare its relative size and shape to the S197 Mustang GT that's on its tail.
