This is a 2 door 1960 Ford Falcon, I'm told the chrome trim around the windows and gutter rail make this a "Futura" model.

This car is 90% rust free, there are only two spots that should need attention. The drivers side floor board and above the drivers side rear wheel, both are not big fixes.

The drivetrain consists of a 1969 200 inline 6 that was rebuilt by central cylinder 3-4 years ago. A year ago it was fitted with a new Weber 32/36 two barrel carb. Behind it is a manual 5-speed T5 transmission out of a 1984 Mustang. The tranny shifts good, all the clutch parts are only a few months old. I have a list of all the parts that made up the swap. It has the factory falcon 4 lug axle and front end. The brakes are all good, replaced under a year ago. 2" exhaust with a flowmaster 40 series muffler and a true "throttle body" exhaust cutout.

The interior is in immaculate condition, the seats were redone 3-4 years ago. The car has a "Retrosound" digital radio, with 4 speakers, 12" sub and an amp. The sound quality is very nice for what it is. Its not too loud outside the car either. The speedo reads high, like if you're going 60, it says 95. I have done some rough calculating and I figured the mileage to be about 60000.

It could use paint if you're feeling adventurous. As of now, the paint and Scallops are done with rustoleum. The roof however is painted very nicely with gold/rainbow metal flake. It looks amazing in the sunlight!

This car has been an amazing daily driver. At roughly 30 miles per gallon HWY and 18 in town, its great for economy driving! I've driven this car almost every day for the past year, it has never left me stranded.

Ford will probably never offer two RS models at the same time

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

Autocar has some sour news for fans of go-fast Ford products. According to Roelant de Waard, Ford's president of marketing in Europe, the automaker will probably never offer more than one RS performance model for sale at the same time. That statement runs contrary earlier rumblings that suggested Ford would launch its next-generation Focus RS in 2015 and follow the hatch with a spate of other vehicles with an RS badge. But de Waard has made it clear that Ford of Europe is now focused on squarely on the next Mustang, even though there may be more RS models on the way eventually.
"What is clear is that the RS shouldn't be a series, or a car badge that we have in our portfolio all the time. It is an extreme car - something more than ST," he said.
That philosophy makes plenty of sense. We loved the old Focus RS - shown above in RS500 trim - because it was generally bonkers and plenty exclusive. Diluting either aspect is sure to end in disappointment for everyone involved.

2014 Ford Transit unveiled in Chassis Cab and Cutaway versions

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

As a leader in commercial vehicles here in the US, we knew Ford wouldn't take too long to show off the chassis cab and cutaway versions of its 2014 Ford Transit van. Set to go on sale this fall, Ford already revealed the full-body version of the Transit, and now it has pulled the cover off exposed-frame models just in time to to compete against the all-new Ram Promaster.
The term "chassis cab" refers to models with a fully enclosed cabin used for box vans or rental trucks, while cutaway models leave the cabin open behind the B-pillars for a pass-through on vehicles such as Class C motorhomes or ambulances. Both will offer three wheelbase options (138, 156 and 178 inches), the choice of single or dually rear axles, and plenty of upfitter-friendly touches including a pre-wired body harness and multiple body mount locations.
The new design will also help make upfitting a little easier since the fuel filler is now built into the cab (just behind the driver's door). Those integrated fuel filler necks will serve to feed either a 3.7-liter V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, or a 3.2-liter Power Stroke diesel. Transit chassis cab and cutaways will wear varying Gross vehicle weight ratings from 9,000 pounds to 10,360 pounds depending on spec.

Ford says C-Max mpg reduction has hurt sales

Tue, 22 Apr 2014

The Ford C-Max is having a rough time. Sales for the five-door hybrid hatchback were down 39.1 percent in March to 2,295 cars, and sales from January through March were down 42.5 percent to 5,566 units. In an interview with The Detroit News, Ford Americas boss Joe Hinrichs places the blame on lowering the model's fuel economy rating.
"We're definitely seeing consideration on C-Max decline over time. We need to reinvest in the product because it's a great car," said Hinrichs to The Detroit News.
The company was hit with bad publicity over the C-Max when owners in multiple states filed class action lawsuits that alleged the cars weren't able to meet the stated fuel economy. Ford eventually re-rated the model from 47 miles per gallon city, highway and combined to 40 mpg city, 45 mpg highway and 43 mpg combined. To soften the blow of the change, the automaker sent checks to the owners to make up some of the difference. Initially, Ford claimed that demand remained strong for the hybrid. However, the latest sales figures and Hinrichs' statement seem to show the opposite.
