1969 Fairlane 500 Cobra Jet clone Station wagon, with 89,000 original miles I am the third owner the previous owners were a 90 year old couple from Pennsylvania they purchased it brand new. Has original paint(couple touch up areas) original interior, original untouched 302 engine and automatic transmission.

I drive this to the local car shows and people walk right past the totally restored chevys to look at the old wagon, someone is always telling me how their father had one and they remember riding in it as a child, it gets thumbs up all day long driving down the road.

This is a survivor never been restored, the interior is all original no tears in the seats the back seat looks like it was never sat in, there is a hole in the headliner near the rear window, the paint is original except for some touch up spots mostly on rockers, there is some minor rust and patina as expected on an original 45 year old car some rust on drivers rocker panel and bottom of rear tailgate, the original floors and frame rails are solid, cargo area is nice not scratched up. It runs and drives nice recently put over 2500.00 into it has brand new custom bent 2 1/2 dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers sounds great, new Cragar S/S wheels with new Firestone Wide Oval reproduction tires, new chrome valve covers, rebuilt original carburetor, tune up, I also added the Cobra Jet parts. Car also has Factory front disk brakes and power steering. There is also a 1960,s surf board that goes with the car that I use for display at the Car shows, load up the kids and take them to cruise nights, Car shows, also great for swap meets. I have videos of the car running and additional pictures I can email to you.

Chris Harris pits Fiesta ST against Mercedes G63 AMG in 0-60 battle... sort of

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

Vehicle performance tests are serious business, with reputations made or broken by things like braking distance, top speed, and lateral g-forces. King of the metrics, though, is the 0-60 run, which for unknown reasons has become the benchmark for what truly makes a car a performance machine.
Now, Chris Harris from Drive has turned the whole idea behind the sprint to 60 on its ear. Taking a new Ford Fiesta ST, Harris asks a simple question: would the ST be quicker to 60 on its own, or on a trailer being towed by a Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG?
It's a fair question, really. The Fiesta Harris tested hit 60 in 7.2 seconds on a slightly uphill section of runway. It should be noted that Harris quotes his ST at 182 horsepower, which is about 15 ponies less than what we're getting in the US, so these numbers might not hold up all that well against an American model. The G63 AMG, meanwhile, is a 536-horsepower monster, powered by a twin-turbo V8 that, able to propel the big SUV to 60 mph in just 5.2 seconds without towing a Fiesta.

Ford's Mulally now said to be in lead for Microsoft CEO job

Sun, 29 Sep 2013

There have been rumors that Ford CEO Alan Mulally could assume the top job over at Microsoft, whose CEO, Steve Ballmer, will retire within the year. Mulally hasn't come out and said that he's considering moving to Microsoft after (or before) his contract with Ford through 2014 ends, but sources in the know say he's the front-runner to become the tech giant's CEO and has opened up to the idea more in recent weeks, AllThingsD reports.
Mulally is no stranger to Washington, where Microsoft is located, having worked in the state for Seattle-based Boeing Commercial Airplanes as CEO years ago. He also recently was an adviser to Ballmer in an effort to realign the company's management structure to help it become more competitive in a fast-changing computer hardware and software market. And when Ford developed its Sync digital interface, it tapped Microsoft to provide the operating system, Microsoft Auto. Perhaps the least crucial connection - but nonetheless an important one - is that Mulally still owns a house in the Seattle area, and it's been said he wants to return there, according to AllThingsD.
A main challenge Microsoft's next CEO will face is how to manage the company's numerous, fractured operations and, eventually, streamline them. But even on this front, Mulally has experience; after all, it was he who ushered in an era of global Ford vehicles, after the automaker had become complacent developing and selling vehicles by region leading up to the economic recession of 2008-2009.

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
