Fully restored 1956 Ford Fairlane Sunliner in beautiful Raven Black and Corral Pink with matching interior.  The mileage is stated at 99,999 but the actual mileage is unknown, although the car has been driven less than 1,000 miles since its restoration and engine and transmission rebuild.   The car has been updated for a better driving experience with the installation of a front power-disc brake system and electronic ignition system.  The engine is freshly rebuilt and uses a modern Edelbrock intake and carb so it starts easily and runs smoothly.  The original intake and carb come with the car. The photos illustrate lots of attention to detail in the restoration and the car eatures many period accessories like a continental kit that make this a classic 1950's cruiser.  The transmission has also been rebuilt and it performs as new.  Please ask all questions before bidding, and please only bid if you are a serious and qualified bidder.  Bidders are also welcome to preview the car.  Shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder or it can be picked up locally.   Interested buyers may call Steve at 703-507-4937 until 9 pm EST. A deposit of $1,000.00 is required at auction close and full payment within 3 days of auction close unless otherwise agreed upon by high bidder and seller.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues

Wed, 28 Dec 2011

'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.

Ford going bonkers at SEMA with 57 showcars

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

Ford always shows up in force at the SEMA Show, but this year's tally of 57 custom-tuned cars, trucks and vans is more than we can ever recall the Blue Oval bringing. Ford will introduce 28 of its project vehicles in its "Dreamcase" ahead of next month's show. The first batch of eight you'll find here with the remaining vehicles trickling into public view over the next couple of weeks.
This first group of cars includes a Fiesta, four Fiesta ST hatchbacks and a trio of Mustang show cars styled and tuned to varying degrees all by different aftermarket companies. Tanner Foust, Nitto Tire, 3dCarbon and Ice Nine Group are some of the more familiar names affixed to these cars. Our favorite so far is the Hollywood Hot Rods Mustang convertible (shown above) with its removable aluminum top and methanol-injected, 750-horsepower 5.0-liter V8.
Scroll down for all the details on these Fiestas and Mustangs, and stay tuned for more info on Ford's SEMA line, which will include custom versions of the Focus ST, Fusion, Transit Connect, F-150 and Super Duty.

NHTSA closes investigations into Ford Taurus, Hyundai Santa Fe

Wed, 03 Jul 2013

Ford and Hyundai are out from under the scrutinizing eyes of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after the government agency said it was closing investigations against both automakers over vehicle safety concerns.
Ford was being investigated for reported damaged speed control cables on Ford Taurus (shown above) and Mercury Sable models, both built between 2000 and 2003. Vehicles with the company's Duratec engines allegedly failed to allow owners to brake as expected. Owners lodged 100 complaints and were involved in five accidents, according to NHTSA records. The American automaker responded to the reports, and on June 21 of this year, said that it would inspect and repair all affected vehicles, regardless of the mileage.
Hyundai was under investigation for a reported loose fastener on the steering shaft of its 2011 Santa Fe (shown in the gallery below). After NHTSA launched its inquiry, the Korean automaker responded with its own investigation that yielded four affected vehicles. Following the inspection of 680 vehicles at its assembly plant, Hyundai said the issue was due to employee error and that no further defects have been found.
