I have a good work truck for someone. This is a 1999 F-350 V-10 with a stake type bed on the back. This is a single rear wheel version, not a dually. This truck needs some love. It starts, runs, and drives. The things I know it needs are as follows: It has a noisy exhaust, under load it does have a slight miss, the front end needs some work(truck wanders going down the road and vibrates over 40mph), the 4x4 doesn't work, and it has an oil leak under the truck. Thats the bad, the good, it is still a one ton chssis with a big motor. This would make a great plow truck or with a little work, a general work truck. The engine doesn't knock or smoke, so I think it's solid, the miss isn't really that bad and is probably ignition related. The transmission shifts fine. As you can see, for a work truck the body is pretty nice. The Stake bed is solid, she's ready to work. The wheels and tires are nice. They have deep tread and are studded. As I said, this isn't a jump in it and drive it 500 miles home truck. WIih the front end I wouldn't recommend driving this thing very far, but ultimately thats up to you. Another option other than a work truck would be parts. 1 Ton parts are not cheap and this has alot of good ones. I've seen just the stake beds go for 600-700 bucks. WIth this you have a good gas tank, rear end, transmission, engine, body parts, stake bed, wheels and tires, possibly the front axle and transfer case depending on whats going on with the 4x4, etc. etc. So thats what it is, a good work truck to use however it will serve you best. Again, don't come expecting a top notch truck, but your not going to pay a top notch price either. This thing really has no use to me, so I'm making it no reserve, drive it away, haul it away, whatever works for you. I have a clean, claer title and 1 key. Any questions, please let me know.

Payment is due within 7 days, Honestly this thing isn't going to bring thousands of dollars so This will be a cash only deal. Transport is up to you.

Thanks for looking and good luck!

Ford reveals concept trucks that ultimately became Atlas

Wed, 03 Apr 2013

The Ford Atlas Concept was one of the quiet success stories of the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, and now Ford has given us a quick glimpse as to how that creation came to be. Designers actually combined two early sketches to build the Atlas. One, called the Bullet Train, is a futuristic, aerodynamic creation, while the other, aptly named the Locomotive, features the squared off proportions we're familiar with.
Once designers settled on the truck's proportions, they began nailing down exactly which attributes they wanted the final design to have. The Concept's notched windshield originated as a forked glass roof that seamlessly transitioned into the windscreen.
Likewise, designers wanted to fit the truck's tailgate with a storage compartment for tools and a first aid kit, but settled on the dual-purpose step/cargo cradle. Interestingly enough, the concept's active aero shutter wheels actually originated in some of the earliest sketches. Check out the photos and slides here for a closer look.

Ford to rebrand SVT as 999?

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Ford operates a number of performance divisions around the world. There's SVT in the US, Team RS in Europe and Ford Performance Vehicles (FPV) in Australia. But the Blue Oval has been steadily integrating its performance operations into one unit, and here we might have our first indication of what it will be called.
A reader at Jalopnik sent in a survey in which respondents were asked to gauge the name for a new performance brand from a "major automotive manufacturer," and while the identity of that automaker was not disclosed, according to the survey, the automaker is considering the name 999 for its new go-fast unit.
As our compatriots point out, the 999 was Ford's first racecar, a rudimentary chassis with a 19-liter inline-four campaigned by Henry Ford around the turn of the 20th century. (Ford also used the number to designate a Fusion fuel-cell racer a few years back.) That could prove the tie-in Dearborn is looking for in rebranding its performance operations worldwide, replacing the letters SVT, RS and FPV globally under one name.

Ford updates Power Stroke diesel V8, strengthens F-450, tweaks King Ranch

Thu, 26 Sep 2013

Ford is giving its F-Series Super Duty trucks some upgrades for 2015, and we're happy to say that one of them is an improved Power Stroke diesel V8. Also, Ford is strengthening the top-of-the-line F-450 to handle more abuse. And if wild west-style luxury is your thing, the automaker has performed minor cosmetic updates to its King Ranch Edition trucks, as well.
The turbocharged 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 is currently rated at 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque, and Ford only tells us the new and improved Power Stroke can "produce power beyond today's" engine. What, then, did Ford actually improve upon? First, the Blue Oval swapped in a new, larger turbocharger. The new Garrett GT37 turbine unit is 72.5 millimeters in diameter, eclipsing the old GT32's 64-mm diameter piece. Ford states output increases with the new turbo setup, but since the new turbocharger operates at a lower peak pressure than the old one, the automaker was able to eliminate the wastegate system and reduce the engine's complexity. Ford even redesigned the turbo's oil and cooling lines to make the powerplant simpler. A byproduct of the larger turbo is better engine exhaust braking, which is controlled manually by a button on the dashboard.
Ford claims the upgraded diesel engine is more powerful, more robust, more efficient and more refined than before.
