1997 Ford F-350 Powerstroke Turbo Diesel 7.3 L No Rust on 2040-cars

Year:1997 Mileage:235725 Color: of the truck has NO RUST
Location:

Wentworth, Missouri, United States

Wentworth, Missouri, United States

NO RUST!   1997 Ford F-350, 4x4 (hub lock-in), Crew cab, 7.3 Power Stroke Diesel, Long bed, Automatic.  This is a tough, solid, running machine.  Starts up beautifully. Runs perfectly. This is a very, very nice truck in great condition.

The Exterior of the truck has NO RUST. It has the dual fuel tanks and a goose-neck ball. It has a spray-in rhino liner and husky toolbox. It is in excellent condition with the following exceptions: There is a dent on the tailgate. On the R side bed panel a couple spots of paint/clear-coat were removed by power washing. There is a very small dent behind the RR door that is not very noticeable. We just installed a brand new windshield. Bumper on FR side is bent down a couple inches.

The interior is in good condition for its age and mileage. It has the very spacious crew cab interior. No rips in the upholstery, but some wear. Radio and CD player work but display panel does not light up. RR window does not work--but we haven't investigated the cause. AC is ice cold. Heater works well. Truck has security system that works well.

Mechanically the truck is in excellent condition. This is a powerhouse. This Ford 7.3 diesel powerstroke engine is equipped with a "super chip max micro tuner" with 3 settings to adjust speed to torq ratios. Truck starts perfectly, even in the cold. Drives smoothly. There are no issues with steering or linkage. There are no squeaks or squeals or leaks or drips.

I will miss this truck.  The reason we are selling is that we have a lawn care business and are switching from running pickup trucks and trailers to running Isuzu landscaping trucks.

This truck is one of Ford's top trucks. It has the legendary 7.3. It has the really classic much-loved 1997 body style.

Previous owner was a perfectionist and maintained it perfectly. He was from Colorado & was the second owner--truck was from Texas before that.

You are welcome to come see the truck in person. We are in SW Missouri. Please call with any questions. (417) 635-7139. We could also e-mail more pictures if you want.

First Ford Mustang prototype shots caught by legendary spy shooter Jim Dunne

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

You know how people refer to someone as having "been around the block" to mean they're very experienced? Well, when it comes to automotive spy photography, Jim Dunne actually laid down the concrete slabs of the block's sidewalk. The unforgettable Dunne more or less invented the car spy game - a fact he cemented by writing book called Car Spy - and has been delivering spy shots and reporting on the industry for some 45 years now. (He also once employed this writer as his impromptu personal chauffer on a Volkswagen trip in Germany, while he slept, but that's a story for a different time.)
In any event, Dunne must be on a mission to prove that "elder statesman" doesn't also mean "washed up" as it is his shots of the upcoming new 2014 Ford Mustang that we've been handed by our friends at KGP Photography.
Mr. Dunne has likely spent the last few years obtaining powerful telescopic lenses, as the Ford in question has clearly been photographed from some distance. Nevertheless, what you see here is visual evidence that the sixth-generation Mustang has moved beyond the mule stage, and is now testing in proper prototype form. Sources indicate that there are production-spec body panels under that baggy canvass dress; but the slightly less bulky silhouette of the new car can be just made out. While the car's bumpers have been removed to obfuscate things, we can tell by way of the camo's apertures that the car's taillights have moved upwards and towards the lip of the tail. A fender vent appears to be visible, too, just behind the front wheel.

Ford Escort returns... as a concept

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

Ford is kickin' it old school at the Shanghai Motor Show for 2013 with a new Escort Concept - "a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design" as we said in our initial preview of the small C-segment sedan. Or, as Ford puts it, "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Potato, potahto...
It's an interesting amalgam of design notes with Ford's recent and stylish hexagonal grille up front, flanked by some pretty busy LED light clusters and chrome-trimmed air intakes at the lower extremities of the fascia, but the Escort Concept is not altogether unattractive. Besides its external appearance, we really don't have much information to report - Ford has not yet hinted at what may be powering this little machine, but we'd expect something with four cylinders and less that 2.0 liters of displacement sending a modest number of horses to the front tires.
It probably goes without saying, but we don't expect to see this Escort make its way to the United States, since we already have the Focus and the Fiesta battling it out in the econobox segment. That said, it's very likely to spawn a production model that will roll out here in China and in other developing market where multiple C-segment entries are becoming increasingly common. Check out our high-res image gallery of live images above, and let us know what you think of the car's styling, then scroll down below for the official press release.

Solid axle? What solid axle?
I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation.
This should not have gone this easily. Having a long and checkered history of simple projects punctuated by much wailing and gnashing of knuckles, I was fully prepared to embark on a seven-day journey down a rabbit hole of broken bolts, internet hearsay and consternation when I finally decided to lay hands on the '89 Mustang with the goal of relieving the car of its stock rear axle. Instead, it took less than a full morning's worth of work to carve the old 7.5-inch solid axle from its moorings and mock up something, well, different.
