1987 Ford F350 with a 9 foot Reading Utility Body I am the second owner of this truck Since new this truck was always garaged and used seasonally in a construction business for delivering materials. It has a jaw-type hitch for pulling a ring type trailer connection.  Some of the items replaced within the last year were: new radiator, alternator, brakes,  and fan belts and within the last few months the electric fuel pump, exhaust manifold gaskets, valve cover gaskets, sparkplugs and plugwires and a new diaphram on the accelerator pump was replaced and a new headlight switch was just installed.  The truck has approx. 180K on it and was repainted about 3 or so years ago. Two brand new tires were installed on the rear in late December with less that 300 miles on them since. Mechanically the truck is very good, very dependable always started , the battery is a heavy duty one about 2 years old Its a rugged truck that is set up for pulling anything you hook up to it! I have the title in hand so buy it and put it to work!  Call me with any questions feel free to come and take it for a ride I used it recently fo some asphalt sealcoating jobs, and the only reason I"m selling it is that my brother bought a new one that we can both use, other than that I would definitely keep it .  (The strobe light on the cab works)  My cell phone number is 860-617-0280 thanks and good luck! Bill

RTR Spec 5 Concept shows off 2015 Ford Mustang's drifty potential

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

Meet the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5 Concept, a fully functional drift car that, according to our team in Sin City, has been doling out demo drifts in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Destined to be the flagship of RTR's Tactical Performance Line, the Spec 5 Concept is, in addition to its 5.0-liter Aluminator V8 engine, chock full of performance parts that you can buy for your very own 2015 Mustang. In addition to the Ford Racing engine, the OEM parts supplier has lent the Spec 5 an aluminum radiator and a close-ratio six-speed transmission.
ASD Motorsports provided the front lower control arms, while the car itself rides on a fully customized coilover suspension. Magnaflow and American Racing have provided the exhaust system and headers, respectively. 20-inch HRE wheels, designed for RTR, are wrapped in sticky Nitto rubber.

Tier 1 suppliers call GM the worst OEM to work with

Mon, 12 May 2014

Among automakers with a big US presence, General Motors is the worst to work for, according to a new survey from Tier 1 automotive suppliers, conducted by Planning Perspectives, Inc.
The Detroit-based manufacturer, which has been under fire following the ignition switch recall and its accompanying scandal, finished behind six other automakers with big US manufacturing operations. Suppliers had issues with trust and communications, as well as intellectual property protection. GM was also the least likely to allow suppliers to raise their prices in the face of unexpected increases in material cost, all of which contributed to 55 percent of suppliers saying their relationship with GM was "poor to very poor."
GM's cross-town competitors didn't fare much better. Chrysler finished in fifth place, ahead of GM and behind Dearborn-based Ford, which was passed for third place this year by Nissan. Toyota took the top marks, while Honda captured second place.

Detroit 3 small cars lay an egg in latest Consumer Reports reliability study

Tue, 28 Oct 2014

Consumer Reports has released its Annual Auto Reliability Survey and the results are, in a word, interesting. While we already covered the score-damaging effects of infotainment systems, there's another big angle to the data that's getting some attention - the utterly dismal scores of the Detroit Three's small car offerings.
The turbocharged Dodge Dart and Chevrolet Cruze, as well as the Ford Fiesta were their respective brands' lowest-scoring models, a stat that's made worse by the fact that the American automakers finished 25th, 21st and 23rd, respectively.
That's not acceptable for The Detroit Free Press' auto critic, Mark Phelan, who has penned a scathing critique of the D3's small car reliability scores, arguing that GM, Ford and Chrysler are "out of excuses."
