For sale is a 97 F250 with the 7.3L diesel and auto trans. This pickup runs great, the transmission shifts nice and solid, mechanically sound pickup. I have owned this pickup since it had 81,000 miles and it has been a solid pickup. It has a lift and 35x12.50 R18 General Grabber tires on Moto Metal wheels. I bought the wheels and tires about two years ago but they only have around 7,000 miles on them. It has an onboard 12 volt air compressor, 3 gallon tank and air bags on the rear for towing. K&N cold air intake, I had the exhaust straight piped and when I replaced the transmission around 8,000 miles ago (due to the stock one starting to slip) I replaced the stock pancake downpipe with a 3.5 inch round downpipe. It has an Edge 60 hp 100 ft lb module. This pickup has some minor body damage, there is a spot on the front driver fender on the bottom with a little spot of paint peel, there is a few scratches down the driver side on the rear of the bed and a dent on the extended cab, none of which are hugely noticeable. The interior is in good shape for a 16 year old pickup. All the seats and carpet are in good shape the only cracks on the dash are on that soft pad on the passenger side the same spot every ford in that body style crack, they're not too bad. It has a nice stereo system in it, was real good in its day but I'm sure there is better out there now. It still sounds good. Pioneer deck, two MTX 10 inch sub woofers with amp and all four of the stock speakers have been replaced with Infinity speakers. Under the dash are the controls to add or release air from the rear air bags. The power door locks and power windows all work like they're suppose to.

Ford partnering with MIT, Stanford on autonomous vehicle research
Fri, 24 Jan 2014Ask any car engineer what's the biggest variable in achieving fuel economy targets, and he'll tell you "the driver." If one human can't understand human driving behavior enough to be certain about an innocuous number like miles per gallon, how is an autonomous car supposed to figure out what hundreds of other drivers are going to do in the course of a day? Ford has enlisted the help of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to find out.
Starting with the automated Fusion Hybrid introduced in December, MIT will be developing algorithms that driverless cars can use to "predict actions of other vehicles and pedestrians" and objects within the three-dimensional map provided by its four LIDAR sensors.
The Stanford team will research how to extend the 'vision' of that LIDAR array beyond obstructions while driving, analogous to the way a driver uses the entire width of a lane to see what's ahead of a larger vehicle in front. Ford says it wants to "provide the vehicle with common sense" as part of its Blueprint for Mobility, preparing for an autonomous world from 2025 and beyond.
Ford Mustang hit by Moore' Oklahoma's EF5 tornado lives to do another burnout
Fri, 07 Jun 2013Oklahoma recently saw the destructive power of an EF5 tornado, but in the aftermath of the devastation, we've also been witness to the incredible resilience of the human spirit. Moore, OK resident Jack Haden survived the storm but found that his 2003 Ford Mustang wasn't quite as lucky. As you can see in the image above, the tornado's 200+ mph winds did quite a number on the car, but while most people would have likely called their insurance company and scrapped the car, Haden had other plans.
After finding the car and seeing that its V6 still fired up, Haden spent a couple hours getting the car, um... roadworthy(?)... by removing the doors and front clip, cutting off the roof and putting on some new wheels and tires. He noticed that driving it around brought some comic relief to an area that needed a reason to laugh and smile. Check out the KSBI TV news report video below showing before and after pictures of the tough 'Stang, as well as a video showing the newly lightweight coupe doing a smoky burnout.
Ford ditching Microsoft in favor of BlackBerry QNX for next-gen Sync?
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Ask the average consumer - at least, those who follow the goings-on in the automotive industry - which carmaker they'd most closely associate Microsoft, and the answer you'd most likely get would be Ford. The Blue Oval automaker, after all, was at the forefront of bringing Microsoft technology into cars with its pioneering Sync system, and, though reality didn't turn out as such, Ford's CEO was recently touted as a potential future head of the Redmond-based software giant. But that relationship, according to the latest reports, could be coming to an end.
Alan Mullaly kiboshed the idea of leaving Dearborn for Redmond, but more importantly Ford is tipped to be ditching Microsoft in developing its next-generation Sync system. In its place, Ford is expected to partner with BlackBerry's QNX division.
Now, before you go balking "BlackBerry?! But they're finished!" consider that QNX is (or at least was) an independent entity that Research In Motion (as BlackBerry's Ontario-based parent company was then known) just happened to have bought back in 2010. QNX provides control systems to everything from nuclear power plants and UAVs to automakers like Audi, BMW and Porsche.
