Truck is in good shape. I bought this truck off a friend of mine and he bought it new and paid $34,000.00 in 96. I am the second owner and have owned it for five or six years. I love the truck but race and have a 44ft enclosed trailer to pull and want to get a toter. Truck Runs good. 411 gears gets 10-13 mpg towing

Pros- Tranmisson rebuilt with new torque converter  and trans cooler 18,0000 miles ago. Built for towing-builds pressure at shift points. Has removable goose neck reese hitch and air bags less than a year old $700.00 also has reese hitch at bumper. Good tires over half tread left. Serviced regular with premium oil. Camper Top with matching paint/ top needs new paint clearcoat peeling.

New bed sides and new paint. Had rust at fender wells. $2000.00 repair. Kenwood cd player with two amps and three ten inch speakers. New injectors and starter year old. No oil leaks Good Batteries. Engine is stock no mods to it.

Cons- Little rust at lower fender as seen in pic. Body shop said it does not need a patch panel it can be repaired. Small scratches and a few small dents not real noticable. Things I would do if I kept it- install new shocks still has factory shocks, replace front wheel bearings (outer) I took them apart and greased them and they stayed tight for about six months.

The only other thing that is wrong with the truck is in the winter when its cold out and you first start it sometimes and not very often when you hit the gas pedal the sensor does not respond. Once I let off and push down agian it is fine. The pedal has a sensor and the signal is a little weak but you have to buy a new pedal assembly and can not buy just the sensor. It is $375.00 to replace and I never have because it really does not bother me. If you have any other questions let me know.

Next Ford F-150 delayed for aluminum body panel issues?

Wed, 11 Dec 2013

The timetable for next-generation Ford F-150 may be in trouble if a report from The Truth About Cars is true. The next F-150 is slated to make extensive use of weight-saving aluminum in its body, but the aluminum alloy provided by suppliers hasn't met Ford's requirements in the earliest phases of pre-production, according to the report.
The F-150 represents a huge portion of Ford's profits and is the best-selling truck in the US, even in the face of increased pressure from cross-town rivals General Motors and Ram. While the current truck is treading water against its competition, we'd be lying if we said the F-150 weren't growing quite long in the tooth.
If production of the next-generation of the Ford cash cow, said to be based on the Atlas Concept from the 2013 Detroit Auto Show (pictured above), is delayed, it could be bad for Ford. Production at Ford's Dearborn Truck Plant is already set to be delayed six to ten weeks, missing an internal on-sale deadline of Memorial Day.

TX officer allegedly lets 140-mph street racer go with a warning [w/poll]

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Being pulled over by the police is one of the most nerve-racking situations that a driver can go through, and it's even worse when you know that the officer has you dead to rights for speeding well over the posted limit. In this video, the driver of a heavily modified Ford Mustang with a claimed 966 horsepower at the rear wheels could have easily lost his ride for doing triple-digit speeds and street racing, but a friendly Texas police officer appears to send him on his way with a simple warning.
What's more, the driver in question wasn't just speeding - his Mustang was the camera car for a bunch of rolling street races in the wee hours of the morning on a Texas highway. The driver was more than willing to mix it up in the action, too. Eventually the cops catch on and pick the 'Stang to pull over, but not before the Ford owner runs a claimed 140 mph. With only audio to go on after the car is pulled over, the police officer seems incredibly nonchalant about catching someone who was so brazenly breaking the law. Incredibly, the patrolman actually tells the driver that he's seen everyone racing tonight but ignored them. With traffic picking up, the cop says that it's time to "cut it out" and go home for the night. As far as this video shows, that was the end of it.

Shelby Cobra, Mercedes 300SL and 1947 Woodie from Petersen Museum headed to auction

Mon, 29 Jul 2013

The changes happening at the Petersen Museum have been making the rounds in major press, but it probably won't be until August 18, during Pebble Beach, when we get the full story on what's happening; that's where and when museum reps plan on announcing the way forward for the SoCal institution. In the meantime, the museum is still reorganizing its collection, and that means auctioning some of its showpieces at this weekend's Auctions America event in Burbank.
Three of the stars are a 1964 Shelby Cobra 289, one of less than 20 produced with a three-speed C-4 automatic transmission, a 1960 Mercedes-Benz 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack and the last 1948 Ford Sportsman 'Woodie' ever produced. The Cobra, now restored to its original white exterior and red leather interior, was a factory demonstrator that first sold for $5,250. Showing just 38,950 miles on the odometer, its pre-sale estimate is $800,000 to $1 million.
The 300SL is actually a 1957 model but wasn't titled until Robert Stack took possession in 1960. The lead actor in the The Untouchables TV series used to drive by the Sunset Boulevard Mercedes dealership to ogle the car, but couldn't justify spending the money to buy it. When he and the producer of The Untouchables won Emmys for the show, the producer, who happened to be Desi Arnaz, bought the car for Stack. He owned it his whole life, it has been left as Stack drove it and still bears the California license plate "UNTCHBL."
