Hello, I'm putting my 06 powerstroke back up for sale. Its a crew cab short box. With 120,000 miles. gray leather seats. Power everything- Windows,seats,pedals and rear window. But I think the fuse is blown for the rear window. The inside of the truck is in great shape. Has 20" aftermarket rims with BRAND new Nitto Trail Grappler tires. Have maybe 1,000 miles on them. It has a RanchHand bumper on the front. A B/W flip over ball in the box. Has a roll up bed cover but it not installed. ProFlap mudflaps. A 4" turbo back exhaust with a 5" stainless tip. A TS Performance touch screen tuner. Can monitor all kinds of stuff under the hood. Including the FICM voltage. Adds power and ups the fuel economy. All the after market parts have less then 5,000 miles on them. I have about $2500 in aftermarkets in the trucks. The body of the truck does have some issues. The drivers side front fender is scratched up. The passenger side door has a ding in it. And the worst spot is the passenger side box behind the rear wheel is dented up. I bought the truck this way. I bought it from a guy just up the road from me. But before the last owner bought the truck it was involved in a theft. So the truck has a salvage title due to a theft. Watch these videos of an NHRA racer's bodywork blowing off into a crowd
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Just a few months ago, fan safety at racetracks was a hot topic following the last-lap NASCAR Nationwide Series crash at Daytona that sent large pieces of racecars into the grandstands injuring 33 fans. Now, a freak incident at a National Hot Rod Association event resulted in a drag racer's bodywork flying into the crowd at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte over the weekend. The carbon-fiber body of Robert Hight's Ford Mustang funny car blew off toward the end of a run when his engine exploded, but fortunately, the two fans evaluated after the incident were later released without serious injury.
As you can see in the image above, the body flew high into the air before landing on a walkway in front of the grandstands, a bit of happenstance that likely gave most fans enough time and space to move out of the way. Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
2015 Ford F-150 named Truck of Texas, Lincoln and Jeep also awarded at Truck Rodeo
Tue, 14 Oct 2014The Ford Motor Company has a lot of reasons to celebrate after winning eight categories in this year's Texas Auto Writers Association's annual Truck Rodeo. Most important among them, the Blue Oval's latest 2015 Ford F-150 earned the prestigious Truck of Texas award, ending the Ram 1500's two-year winning streak. The 2015 Lincoln MKC also grabbed the honor as the CUV of Texas, and Ford was named Truck Line of Texas.
FoMoCo even took trophies for best technology with its extensive use of aluminum on its latest F-Series and best commercial vehicle for the new Transit 250. It wasn't a total sweep, though, because the Jeep Grand Cherokee grabbed the title of the SUV of Texas for the fifth straight time.
This year's event put 60 auto writers in 75 pickups, SUVs and crossovers and challenged them to find the best in a plethora of categories. All of the winners are listed below, and scroll down to read the full announcements from the Texas Auto Writers Association and Ford.
