It has a few dents and the bed wall needs to be bent inward 1 inch because a loader hit it from the inside and now it doesnt meet with the tailgate latch on the right side. it is correctable if you put a board of wood along the outside and push on it with a bobcat or front loader of some sort. i dont have one... it starts and smokes blue a bit for about 3-8 minutes until it warms up, then it doesnt really smoke much at all after that. the engine would need to eventually be rebuilt but it has miles left in it. im selling it because i dont use it, i dont do that kind of work anymore. it is reliable, it has all new glow plugs. the transmission was recently rebuilt with an oversize clutch package. all new brake components! newish back tires. new fuel Lift Pump. dual tanks both work. for the price its a great truck. its what you would expect for an inexpensive used work truck. it is exempt from NJ inspection. vehicle is located in 08759 manchester NJ. it came from GA so its mostly rust free. i used to live in GA and i drove it up 1 year ago, 800 miles no problems. both tanks have a good amount of diesel in them, the truck does not come with any of the items seen in the bed.

On Aug-17-13 at 00:59:57 PDT, seller added the following information:

one more note, the brake abs module is bad, so i unplugged it, i dont like abs personally anyways, and the brakes work great. if you plug in the abs module it keeps the rear brakes locked after a few stops. with it unplugged the abs light is on, on this truck the abs module just dumps the rear brakes if it detects lockup, a horrible design if you ask me... anyways i just want to be up front about everything that i know of about the truck. if you dont drive it for a few days to a week the brakes become very sensitive for the first few stops, after that there normal. this doesnt bother me and i dont consider it a real issue, again just letting you know all the details.

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

Ford profiles surprisingly affluent Focus ST buyers

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

It comes as no surprise when Ford says that 32-percent of Focus ST buyers are under 35, but we weren't expecting this: the average annual salary of Focus ST buyers is $127,000. Twenty-two percent of non-ST Focus buyers are under 35, while their average annual salary is $67,000.
We like the Focus ST because it has 252 horsepower, is genuinely fun to drive and offers great value for performance-minded car enthusiasts; facts that are not lost on customers, it seems. Ford says that the Focus ST has the highest percentage of conquest sales for a non-hybrid model it sells, and that the top-four trade-ins are from Honda, Chevrolet, Mazda and Toyota. Demand for the hot Focus is strongest in Los Angeles, Detroit, Houston and Orlando.
"[The Focus ST is] having this kind of halo effect for other vehicles we'd hoped for when we invested in the ST brand," says John Felice, vice president of US marketing, sales and service, because it's helping to boost sales of other Ford vehicles.

Creations n' Chrome Top Notch Mustang is a one-of-a-kind fox

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

Is there a cooler car from the 1980s and early 90s to mod than a Fox-body Ford Mustang? No, there isn't. If you disagree with us, we suggest you have a look at this 1990 Mustang Coupe, which just might change your mind. Although considering just how extensively modified this car - the Top Notch Mustang from Creations n' Chrome - is, we wonder just how much Ford is left in this old pony.
It rides on a custom race tube chassis that weighs a scant 700 pounds, while carbon-fiber bits and bobs help lower the overall curb weight to a mere 2,400 pounds. When paired with supercharged, 5.0-liter, Aluminator V8 from Ford Racing, the results are, doubtlessly, exciting. 855 horsepower at the rear wheels and 667 pound-feet of torque are available from that force-fed V8 should be just plenty for this car's intended purpose of running in standing-mile competitions.
The Top Notch Mustang is more extreme than just weight savings and a big engine, though. That 5.0-liter is essentially in what's known as a front-mid layout - where the engine is actually behind the front axle. In this case, the 5.0-liter V8 is 17 inches further back than a factory Fox-body, for better weight distribution. As a result, the cabin has been completely overhauled. An SLA front suspension, wheels from HRE, Wilwood brakes and Sparco interior items round out the extensive list of mods.
