I HAVE DECISED TO SELL MY 1998 FORD F150 BECAUSE IT RARELY GETS DRIVEN AND HAS SIGNS OF SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY TO LONG, SO MAYBE SHE CAN BE USEFUL TO SOMEONE. I'M THE ONLY OWNER OF THIS TRUCK AND DON'T KNOW WHY EBAY'S AUTO CHECK SAYS 2 OWNES. THE TRUCK HAD 197,672 ON THE FRAME AND TRANNY BECAUSE ALLOT OF PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED OVER 15 YEARS. I HAVE ALWAY TRIED TO PURCHASE OEM PARTS AND FIX ANYTHING THAT IS BROKEN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. BELOW IS THE DESCRIPTION OF WHAT HAS BEEN DONE TO THE TRUCK. THIS TRUCK HAS NEVER BEEN AT THE TRACK OR ABUSED ON THE STREET
PERFORMANCE UPGRADES
I INSTALLED A JASPER 4.6 LITER WHICH HAS ABOUT 56,000 ON IT. I INSTALLED PERFORMANCE POWER PULLEIES, FLOWTECH STAINLESS STEEL HEADERS,TRUE-DUAL 2 1/2 IN EXHAUST WITH STAINLESS 3 INCH TIPS, EDGE THERMOSTAT, VULCON COLD AIR INTAKE, CENTERFORCE DUAL FRICTION CLUTCH AND FORD RACING 3:73 GEARS.
STANDARD REPLACEMENTS
I HAVE REPLACED IN LAST 20,000 MILES, FRONT BRAKES AND ROTORS, REAR BRAKES AND DRUMS, FRONT AND REAR SHOCKS, COMPLETED REBUILD FRONT END BUSHINGS AND STREERING, ALSO REPLACED THE WINDSHEILD THANKS TO NICE DIRTY DUMP TRUCK
INTERIOR
REPLACE ALL SPEAKERS AND INSTALLED A NEW IN-DASH CD PLAYER. CARPET, HEADLINER AND SEATS HAVE NO STAINS.
EXTERIOR
TRUCK WAS PAINTED IN 2005, BUT I PURCHASED A ADVANCE AUTO PARTS IN-STORE CAR COVER THAT FADED THE HOOD, ROOF AND MIRRORS. I RECENTLY WET-SANDED THE HOOD AND IT CAME OUT GREAT, SO IT CAN BE CLEANED-UP. IT HAS THE COMMON SMALL SCRATCHES AND ROAD RASH, BUT CLEANS UP GREAT. THE TIRES HAVE GREAT TREAD AND WHEELS DON'T HAVE CURB RASH. LEFT POWER MIRROR WORKS WHEN IT WANT TO, IT NEEDS A SWITCH. THE TRUCK WAS IN TWO LIGHT FENDER-BENDER, NO SERIOUS DAMAGE, MOSTLY PAINT. YOU CAN SEND ANY QUESTION.

Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.
SEMA crowns Mustang, FR-S as this year's hottest cars in the building
Wed, 31 Oct 2012After wrapping up the first day of the 2012 SEMA Show, organizers handed out awards for some of the trendiest vehicles on display. Since the whole point of SEMA is to show off new products available in the aftermarket world for use in cars, trucks and SUVs, each year, the show distinguishes the most popular vehicle in various segments. Not surprisingly, this year's Hottest Car and Hottest Sport Compact are the Ford Mustang and Scion FR-S, respectively, while the Ford F-Series brought home the Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler was named the Hottest 4x4-SUV.
More than 2,000 companies are at this year's show, and the display booths represents a "vote" for each car to determing the trendiest vehicles in each of the four categories. It isn't clear if these awards also take cars brought by OEMs into account, but the Mustang and FR-S were definitely well represented by both OEM and aftermarket show versions.
As usual, the OEMs showed up in force at the this year's SEMA Show exhibiting a variety of cars ranging from production-intent cars like the beastly Ford Mustang Cobra Jet to much flashier rides like Scion's Carbon Stealth FR-S.
How Ford's light lab keeps the sun shining on the new Mustang just right [w/video]
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Anyone who's bought one of those old school metal shift knobs knows they're really cool until they sit in a parking lot in the sun for a few hours. Then they're not cool at all. Likewise, features such as the aluminum dash on the 2015 Ford Mustang can be all kinds of neat right up until the sun hits it just the right way and sends shards of blinding light through the cabin. The Ford Visual Performance and Evaluation Lab is where engineers figure out how to make sure that doesn't happen.
Cars like said Mustang are parked inside the 30-foot reflecting dome under 6,000 watts of lights that can mimic the sun at any time of day and in any weather condition. Engineers can then spend cold, overcast days inside, testing for interior legibility, glare and reflections on every interior and exterior surface as if it were bright and sunny. They can also learn how a car's sheetmetal and colors will look out of doors, all year round.
Ford showed off the lighting lab without the music and interviews three years ago when the Explorer was being prepared. You can watch it at work again in the video below, and read about it in the press release below that.
