Selling this truck for my uncle who has recently had to move into a retirement home.
This 2002 Ford F-150 SuperCab was his pride and joy.
He lives in Virginia, but is originally from NY, and is a huge Yankees fan, hence the custom artwork on the tailgate.
The truck has 129,000 miles and runs strong. My uncle was frequently talked into making repairs that the rest of us weren't sure were necessary, so in addition to regular maintenance (fluid changes, brakes, tuneup, etc) this truck received a remanufactured transmission about 20,000 miles ago, a new heater core about 2,000 miles ago, new rear wheel bearings within the last couple thousand miles, a custom dual exhaust (there's no doubt there's an 8 cyl under the hood) and when the transmission was done, they also did the rear pinion seal ... Which was fine until they touched it, now the truck has a little whine in the rearend that I'm told is not uncommon in these Fords, which no one remembers hearing until it got a new seal and fresh fluid...go figure.
It rides as well as or better than most cars, and is nicely loaded with options Power Steering, Power Locks, Power Brakes, Cruise, Tilt, A/C (cold), Multi CD, Heated Seats, Power Driver seat, sliding rear window, pop out rear vent windows, 60/40 split fold up rear seat, and a Front bench seat with center console that folds up to make room for 3 across the front.
Tires and brakes are good. Body has a few minor imperfections here and there, nothing major, normal parking lots dings. Rear bumper has a dent in it where the car behind him slid into the back of the truck, but the bumper did what bumpers are SUPPOSED to do and took the damage without any body damage resulting.
No Check Engine light or any other warning lights illuminated, truck is running in the photos. Pics taken today, so you see it as it sits this afternoon.
The customer artwork on the tailgate always draws a honk while driving, lots of thumbs up, many waves, including one every once in a while that don't use all their fingers ... But hey, not everyone's a fan ! LOL
Clear title in hand. Looking for a smooth transaction. $500 non-refundable deposit to keep the tire kickers away. You're bidding to own the truck, not come take a picture of its tailgate.

Ford Explorer Jackson Pollock Edition results in trip to hospital
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Among the many useful pieces of driving advice we've taken to heart over the years, "Safely secure all cargo" is etched pretty high on our personal stone tablets. We've had a couple of frustrating moments over the years (numerous wonky cupholders and too-tall lidded cups; a radar detector that released its suction cups and dashed itself below the dashboard, etc.), but never anything like the scene above.
These photos above come courtesy of the Washington State Patrol, and they show the unfortunate aftermath of a driver, his dog, and his Ford Explorer after it crashed near the town of Belfair last week. According to reports, the man was schlepping five-gallon containers of paint inside his vehicle when he was involved in an unexplained accident. It's not clear what triggered the crash, but the impromptu abstract painting covered the whole of the interior, including the driver and his faithful companion.
The man was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries, and his dog was cleaned and later taken to a humane society.
NHTSA closes Ford F-150 EcoBoost acceleration probe
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Typically when we report on the findings of an investigation from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it's because the government body has discovered a safety issue and prescribed a recall. In this case, however, NHTSA has closed an investigation into a reported performance deficit without ever getting to the recall stage.
The issue revolves around the Ford F-150 - specifically those equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine - of which some 360,000 were built in the 2011, 2012 and 2013 model years. After receiving an initial 95 complaints, NHTSA opened an investigation last May - almost a year ago - into the reported issue of reduced engine power under hard acceleration. The agency has since received a total of 525 such complaints, and Ford itself reported receiving over 4,000.
Together, NHTSA and Ford determined that the problem resulted from cylinders misfiring, an issue itself stemming from water getting into the charge air cooler (CAC) mated to the turbochargers. In particularly humid or rainy conditions, water was found to get into the CAC, causing some of the cylinders to misfire, which in turn triggered the ECU to disable those cylinders in order to protect the catalytic converter from damage.
Production Ford Escort heading for Beijing
Wed, 16 Apr 2014Ford's long-dormant Escort nameplate returned affixed to a sedan concept at last year's Shanghai Motor Show. While not exactly a beauty, it showed a clean, straightforward take on Ford's current styling. The Blue Oval said at the time that it wanted to create a model that was stylish "but not one that is arrogant or pretentious." Job done. A year later, it looks like the minimalist vehicle might make its production debut at the Beijing Motor Show.
Autocar claims that the streetgoing version has been confirmed to it for the upcoming show, but so far, Ford isn't saying. If unveiled, the Escort is likely to be produced locally for the Chinese market with a domestic partner. Powertrain details remain a secret, but it seems highly likely that any production model would use a small three- or four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive. Sales in other major world markets like ours are unlikely, but a test car was recently spotted in Europe.
Autoblog contacted Ford for confirmation, but the automaker demurred, with a spokesperson saying only, "At the moment, we are not confirming any vehicles planned for the show." It looks like we will have to wait to know for sure.
