1978 Ford F100 with Short step side bed. Rebuilt engine and transmission. Tranny is a Borg Warner T-10 Built proof 4 speed with Granny Gear. Built for mudding pulling and low end torque. Engine is a Ford 351M bored 40 over with Keith black coated flat top pistons. The connecting rods are eagle h beam - all the nuts and bolt are replaced with ARP bolts crank shaft is also eagle. Engine is converted from points to HEI. Carb is a Holley Carb with manual choke. This engine delivers an enormous amount of low end torque.

Truck was restored in the early 90s, frame has no rust - and some rust is now visible on the cab. Truck has custom dual chrome stacks and add quite the sound. Vehicle is definitely and attention grabber. The bed is a wooden floor and just replaced the carpet inside the cab. The truck is lifted pretty high 3" body 6" suspension and sets on 33x12.5x15s. Truck has custom LED taillights. Lastly the truck has powertrax lock-right lockers in both axles. This thing will not let you down in a tight spot. I personally do not take this truck mudding, but have not got stuck yet in fields (wet/dry) or any other rougher terrain.

May consider Partial trade offers. I am mainly looking for a Honda Foreman ATV with EPS (Electronic Shift) with or with out trailer.

The Truck also has brand new Tires (Less than 100 Mi), new Clutch and TOB from Jegs, and large drop pitman arm.  External gauges added for water temp and RPM

Shipping, Title and Mileage:
Title was sent as Mileage inaccurate, however the gauge does work and shows in the 50k range.  Title is clean not rebuilt but shows mileage inaccurate.  Title is an Ohio title.  Shipping and title transfer will need to be arranged by buyer local pick up or shipped. Please keep in mind it is a lifted vehicle when discussing shipping options.

More pictures will be available by request.  This is not a show room vehicle, but would be very easy to get it to that point.

Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.

DoJ fines Japanese parts firms $740M in massive automotive price-fixing scandal

Fri, 27 Sep 2013

Nine Japanese suppliers have pleaded guilty in US court over charges of price fixing in the automotive parts industry, resulting in the Department of Justice doling out a total of $740 million of fines, according to a report from Bloomberg. The scandal, which has resulted in General Motors, Ford, Toyota and Chrysler spending up to $5 billion on inflated parts and driving up prices on 25 million vehicles has sent the DoJ hustling into investigations. "The conduct this investigation uncovered involved more than a dozen separate conspiracies aimed at the U.S. economy," Attorney General Eric Holder (pictured above) said during yesterday's press conference.
As the investigation stands, the DoJ has issued $1.6 billion in fines against 20 companies and 21 individual executives, with 17 of the execs headed to prison. Deputy Assistant Attorney General Scott Hammond said, "The breadth of the conspiracies brought to light today are as egregious as they are pervasive. They involve more than a dozen separate conspiracies operating independently but all sharing in common that they targeted US automotive manufacturers."
Big-name suppliers indicted in the investigation include Mitsubishi Electric, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Hitachi Automotive and Mitsuba Corporation. A list of fines and other corporations named in the investigation is available at Bloomberg.

Justin Bell makes a horrible policeman

Mon, 11 Nov 2013

If you're wondering what type of person makes a good police officer, it seems a racecar driver doesn't. Let us rephrase that: Justin Bell, a racecar driver and the host of Motor Trend's World's Fastest Car Show, recently got behind the wheel of a 5.0-liter Ford Mustang police car with Sergeant Daniel Shrubb, co-founder of DRAGG (Drag Racing Against Gangs and Graffiti), and proved that his high-performance-driving skillset is a bit too aggressive for police duty.
While it's easy to get carried away in a Mustang GT, a patrol car driver must maintain some sort of restraint while pursuing a criminal, so as not to come off as a reckless driver to the public. We'll admit, some pursuit techniques are counter-intuitive to performance driving (stay off the gas in a lane-change exercise?), but Bell's judicious use of the handbrake can't be normal procedure.
Watch "The One With The Ford Mustang 5.0 Police Car" (yes, we caught the Friends reference too) below to see some shenanigans in one of Michigan's finest patrol cars.
