I am selling my 1965 Ford F-100 stepside longbed truck.  I have had this project for about 15 years and this is as far as I have made it, do to life issues.  I do not plan to finish the truck and what is done is done right with good parts.  I have most of the rest of the parts except the items I was going to replace new during the restore.  I do not have the bumpers or windshield. bed floor, slats and some other small items.  I have striped another truck so I have several extra parts.  I was going to restore the truck as close to stock as possible except for the engine.  The origional engine was a 6 cyl and I have a 289 in it now.  What I have done is the frame and cab have been striped down the bare metal and all rust repaired.  cab has new cab mounts.  The rear end is stock and looks good.  All the brakes are new with new drums, bearings, lines and hoses.  Front end has all new moog parts allong with new king pins.  New monroe shocks and new bushings and front and rear springs.  The engine I bought off a guy who recentaly had it rebuilt at a shop in town, I put a edelbrock intake and 650 carb on it along with new water pump, distribuator, and some dress up parts.  Engine looks good.  It has the stock 3 speed manual trans with a new clutch kit installed.  I have the radiator support, inner finders, battery tray and a few other parts painted and done.  I have 2 sets of front fenders and doors for it.  I have the stepside bed for it also.  This would be a good project which is well started.  Not too far if you wanted to change something.  The cab is just resting on the frame in the pictures.  Any questions call 620-757-9715.  Leave a message if no answer. Thank you.

Automakers donating money, vehicles and supplies to Oklahoma tornado relief effort

Fri, 24 May 2013

Judging by the destruction the Oklahoma City area experienced earlier this week, residents are going to need a lot of help in coming months. Fortunately, a number of automakers - including General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Volkswagen, Honda and Toyota - have stepped up to donate money, supplies and vehicles to aid in the recovery and rebuilding processes.
Here's a quick rundown of which automakers have pitched in and what each contributed so far:
Ford Motor Company has donating $250,000 and a Transit Connect to the American Red Cross, and it will match all other donations made to the Red Cross (up to $250,000) using a special URL tied to the latter's website (link here). Additionally, its local Oklahoma dealers have thrown in an extra $150,000 for the United Way and the automaker will be offering an extra $500 toward the purchase of a new Ford vehicle.

Ford Explorer is America's new favorite police car

Mon, 24 Mar 2014

There is a new vehicle that you should keep an eye out for when you're going a little too fast down the Interstate. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility was the bestselling new law enforcement model in the country last year, and signs show that won't be changing anytime soon.
Ford sold 14,086 Interceptor Utilities in 2013, up 140% from the year before, and 10,897 Interceptor Sedans, up 31%, according to USA Today. Overall, the brand's police sales were up 48 percent, and they were enough to boost the company's law enforcement vehicle market share by 9 points to nearly 50 percent.
The success comes just a few years after it made the decision to finally retire the long-serving Crown Victoria-based cruiser for two more modern vehicles. "We had to reinvent the category," said Chris Terry of Ford Communications to Autoblog. The automaker had to convince police departments that a unibody chassis without a V8 could perform better than a model that had been a law enforcement staple for years.

How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.
