Absolutely amazing 1971 Ford F-100.  This truck is as close to flawless as I have ever seen a restored truck.  A garage queen boasting a show stopper paint job which complements its complete frame off restoration done less than a year ago.  It shows less than 200 miles on the odometer.  Beautiful condition....

Engine - 390 - completely rebuilt with a mild cam and some tasteful upgrades, including a K&N air filter (not pictured here), electronic ignition and so much more. Nearly everything is new in the engine bay, (pumps, carb, belts, brake booster, wiring, hoses, etc).

Transmission - completely rebuilt automatic transmission with a completely rebuilt C-6 rear differential, gears, seals, bearings, etc.  Shifts great - could pull your house off its foundation.

Interior - Everything is restored - this interior is amazing, (dash, seats, carpet, headliner, gauges, window hardware, felt, rubber, etc.)

Wheels and tires - rims are off a Ford Lightening - Simply outstanding look for this truck.

Bed - spray in bedliner really keeps the bed safe from dents, scratches, etc.

Paint - just amazing - this was an Arizona truck, so it had zero rust to start with.  Everything was taken apart and sand blasted or bead blasted, then primed and painted professionally.  The pics speak for themselves.  You can see your face off the reflection of the paint.

Over 25k was put into this truck with OEM parts, paint and materials. It really shows and drives like a new truck.  You won't be disappointed.  In short, this is a Barrett Jackson quality show truck at a fraction of the price of a C-10 or a new truck.  For you California folks - no smog required...

Please contact me for additional pics and information.
Thank you,
John

Which is more fuel efficient, driving with a pickup's tailgate up or down?

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Thanks to the smoke wand in the wind tunnel, you can actually see the difference in our video.
Should you drive with your pickup truck's tailgate up or down? It's an age-old controversy that's divided drivers for decades. Traditionalists will swear you should leave the tailgate down. Makes sense, right? It would seem to let the air flow more cleanly over the body and through the bed. But there's also a school of thought that argues trucks are designed to look and operate in a specific manner, and modern design techniques can help channel the airflow properly. So don't mess with all of that: Leave the tailgate up.

Bill Ford op-ed argues we can't just build and sell more of the same cars

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

It's hardly a secret that the auto industry is undergoing an enormous, tectonic shift in the way it thinks, builds cars and does business. Between alternative forms of energy, a renewed focus on low curb weights and aerodynamic bodies, the advent of driverless and autonomous cars and the need to reduce the our impact on the environment, it's very likely that the car that's built 10 years down the line will be scarcely recognizable when parked next to the car from 10 years ago.
Few people are as able to explain the industry's many upcoming changes and challenges as clearly as William Clay Ford, Jr., better known as Bill Ford. The 57-year-old currently sits as the executive chairman of the company his great-grandfather, Henry Ford, founded over 110 years ago.
In an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal (subscription required), Ford explains that the role of automakers is, necessarily, going to change to suit the needs of the future world. That means changing the view of not just the automobile, but the automaker. As Ford explains it, automakers will "move from being just car and truck manufacturers to become personal-mobility companies."

Volkswagen could outsell GM in China for the first time in nine years

Fri, 27 Dec 2013

As of the end of November, Volkswagen had sold 70,000 more cars than General Motors in China in 2013, making it appear inevitable that VW will outsell GM there. The feat would return the German brand to the top of chart in China for the first time in nine years, but even the second-place getter won't be complaining too loudly: both automakers sold more than three million vehicles in a market pegged to hit 16 million sales this year.
Volkswagen said it could have sold more cars if it had had more production capacity in China. The arrival of a new-to-China Audi A4, a China-built A3 sedan, the VW Bora and Skoda Octavia, as well as an $18.2-billion-euro investment in the country to construct new factories, means VW should see its numbers grow in 2014. GM's lineup is expanding next year, too, adding four Chevrolet nameplates and two vehicles to its Baojun brand as it tries to get to five million in sales by 2015.
Among other automakers, Ford benefited from good product and woes for Japanese automakers over a territorial dispute with China, outselling Toyota by almost 32,000 units through the end of November. The Ford Focus is China's best-selling vehicle so far this year.
