For sale here we have a really nice example of what Detroit used to be capable of before it imploded. This truck has been well used, but well cared for in the last 4 decades, and should provide someone with another 40 years of work and play.  I bought this truck in Northern Ohio 6 years ago from a man who said it came from North Dakota.  He had planned to do a frame-off restoration on it.  It would still be a good candidate for this, but I have used it as a work & play truck.  I had the interior redone in El Paso, TX in 2009.  The engine was rebuilt from the crank up, as well as the transmission, in Hilliard, OH.  A high-volume oil pump, new starter, electronic ignition, stainless headers, and a dual FLowMaster exhaust were added at this time.  The original two-barrel carb was rebuilt as well.  I can provide receipts for all drivetrain work.  This truck also has a Reese hitch, as well as a 7-pin connector for a trailer with electric brakes.  There is an adjustable controller to dial in how much current is applied to the trailer brakes, and how aggressively they are applied.  Between the rebuilt 360, automatic transmission, Reese hitch, and electric brakes this is a very good truck for towing.  I have a dual-axle enclosed Haulmark trailer (I believe it's 8' x 14') that I will sell to the winning bidder if he or she is interested.

There are a couple spots of through rust, the worst being the left cab corner and in the front of the right door jamb.  I would love to do a frame-off and keep this beauty as my baby, but since I need to start using a truck more heavily for work I'd rather beat on a newer truck and let someone else hold onto this one and keep it like it should be kept.

I will have this truck for sale locally and may pull the auction if it sells.  The truck is currently in Columbus, OH.  I can (and will) deliver it to the Lorain County Fairgrounds the weekend of September 21.  That being the case, the mileage may be a bit higher, but not more than a couple hundred miles.  If the winning bidder wants this truck delivered I will put my Harley in the back and drive it anywhere in the lower 48 for $1.00 per mile one-way (must be paid prior to delivery).  Please ask any questions prior to bidding; I work but I will do my best to answer them in a timely fashion.

A $250 deposit is required via PayPal within 24 hours of the auction closing.  Remainder to be paid in cash upon receipt of truck.  Again, please ask any question prior to bidding.  Good luck, and remember, only the last bid counts!

Ford Mustang GT350 drops some camo

Mon, 03 Feb 2014

Now that we've poured over the 2015 Ford Mustang in its standard form, it's time to look ahead. We already knew (and heard - literally) that Ford was working on a higher-performance version of its 'Stang to replace the Shelby GT500, and earlier reports have stated that it will simply be called the GT350.
We don't have a ton of detail to go on, but this latest set of spy photos clearly shows a hood-mounted air scoop, which suggests a forced-induction powerplant is under the hood. However, this disagrees with earlier reports that the GT350 will be all motor, using a naturally aspirated engine to send massive horsepower to the rear wheels. Our spies also point out the functional vent aft of the front wheels to allow for better airflow, and the massive quad exhaust pipes can be seen, clear as day.
Expect to see the Mustang GT350 in April, when it debuts at the New York Auto Show in conjunction with the Pony's 50th anniversary. In the meantime, have a look at our gallery above to see the latest shots of the hot Mustang out testing.

Ford Focus ST, Fiesta ST buyers to get free Octane Academy driving school

Thu, 01 Aug 2013

The Ford Focus ST and Fiesta ST have created plenty of excitement in the sport compact segment, and Ford is looking to make sure that owners are driving and enjoying their cars to the best of their abilities. As an added bonus for buying one of these sporty hatchbacks, Ford will provide a complimentary ST Octane Academy session to be held at the Miller Motorsports Park in Utah.
Attendees will be responsible for travel and lodging, but Ford will provide the driving school free of charge. Included in this two-day trip, ST owners will get class instruction and driving instruction in prepped Focus ST and Fiesta ST models on the track and autocross course. Some karting action will also be involved as will a tour of Ken Block's Hoonigan Racing headquarters located nearby. If this doesn't sound like enough fun, there is also an optional day of activities that includes some more track time in a Mustang GT and off-road instruction in an F-150 SVT Raptor.
Ford told us that those who have already purchased a Focus ST or Fiesta ST will still be able to attend the performance driving school, but the press release, which is posted below, makes it sound like it applies to original owners only. Ford has yet to announce its schedule for the ST Octane Academy or prices for additional activities or guests.

Ford bondage ads reportedly trigger firings at Indian ad agency

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

You will probably remember the ads for the Ford Figo hatchback in India, the ones that showcased the extra large boot of the little hatchback by joking that you can fit three of your enemies in the trunk. One of the ads had Michael Schumacher in the front seat, obviously pleased about having Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso tied up in the back. But the other two had Paris Hilton and ex-Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi up front and three bound and gagged women in the back - in Hilton's case (shown above), it was the Kardashians.
This did not go over well, and Reuters reports that certain employees at JWT India have been fired over the matter. It is also reported that the images weren't actual advertisements, nor were they part of an actual campaign; JWT said they "were never intended for paid publication, were never requested by our Ford client." A JWT rep said the employees who created the ads did so on their own, Ford commented to Automotive News that the ads were "part of a creative exercise intended to test concepts for an advertising competition."
The problem, if the story is to be believed, is that the employees skipped the regular review protocols and uploaded their work to an ad industry site - they were found on Ads of the World. That page, like the employees, has been removed.
