RELISTED. PURCHASER APPARENTLY GOT COLD FEET. 1967 F100, fully restored with a frame-off restoration.  You can see from the pictures that the body was taken off of the frame, completely stripped to bare metal, primed and resprayed prior to reassembly.  This work was done in a professional body shop in Florida before I purchased the truck. The 352 CI V8 engine and transmission were rebuilt as well.  Has the rare power steering option! This truck looks virtually new. It's finished in a stock Ford color for 1967, "Frost Turquoise" with Ivory trim.  It starts and runs like it should. There are only a few minor issues that need attention.  Although the interior was redone and looks great, the driver's side of the seat appears not to have been 'restuffed' correctly, or whatever interior guys call it. The steering wheel was also not put on exactly right, although the wheel itself was redone. The clip is missing off of the brake master cylinder, and I feel like the front brakes (which are new) probably should be bled at some point. I haven't put many miles on the truck, and the guy I bought it from basically had it on display, so I don't think all of the post-resto bugs have all been ironed out, but that's about the extent of what I've found.  The truck really looks fantastic, which is frankly why I'm selling it.  I bought it with the intention of using it, but I find that I'm choosing to use my '49 International instead of this F100 because the International is all dinged up with old paint and I don't feel guilty hauling stuff around in it.  This Ford, by contrast, doesn't even have a scratch on the box, and as a result, I've never hauled anything in it and I don't even take it out much as I don't want dings in it.  I also haven't had it out in the rain or snow. Go figure.  Anyway, if you're looking for a truck that has undergone a restoration well exceeding the value of the truck, here you are.  The guy who restored this took dozens of restoration photos, which come with the sale, along with quite a bit of restoration paperwork, including parts and vendor invoices. Let me know if you have any questions. The truck is located at my warehouse in NE Denver, close to I-70, with easy shipping access. Purchaser to make all shipping arrangements and payment for shipping.  Buyers with low or negative feedback must contact me or I reserve the right to block their bids. I've lowered my Buy It Now to less than what I have into this truck!

Ford Fiesta ST customs get wild at SEMA

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

The massive 57-car SEMA showcase by Ford ranges from obvious aftermarket-friendly models like the Mustang, to the not so obvious ones, like the Transit Connect and cute-as-an-explosive-button Fiesta ST. Ford plucked several Fiesta STs for SEMA duty, and we were on the show floor today to get a closer look at some of them.
First up is the striking COBB Tuning and Tanner Foust Racing Fiesta ST (above) finished in a black-and-gray digital camouflage, much like that used in the military, and is meant to raise awareness for the Pat Tillman Foundation. COBB also fitted a three-inch exhaust and a cold-air intake. A new shift knob, carbon-fiber hood and a Kicker stereo round out the mix of upgrades.
MRT got its hands on a Fiesta ST and created a car inspired by Forza Motorsport 5 (below, left). Featuring a two-tone paint job and more performance upgrades than you can shake a stick at, this Fiesta ST is one of the cooler compacts at Ford's stand. A high-performance exhaust system, along with a complimentary COBB induction system, allows the ST to breathe better, while an H&R coil over suspension and Steeda brakes help it stop and turn better than stock.

Ford posts decade-best $2.1B profit in Q1 2013

Wed, 24 Apr 2013

As predicted, Ford has reported that its first quarter of 2013 was a resounding success overall, with a pretax profit of $2.1 billion ($0.41 per share), and a net income of $1.6 billion ($0.40 per share). In fact, Ford made a pretax profit of some $2.4 billion in its home North American market, with that total number being pulled down by losses in South America and Europe. That gaudy North American profit is the strongest result by the automaker since 2000.
Ford's companywide profit for Q1 was down $147 million from one year ago, while the net income number marked an increase of $215 million year over year. Overall, this is Ford's 15th-consecutive profitable quarter.
The bad news from the European market was even worst in Q1 2013 than it was last year. Pretax losses of $462 million - on revenue of $6.7 billion - represented a year-over-year change of -$313 million. In South American, the company reported a loss of $218 million, down from a slim profit of $54 million in Q1 2012. The news was better for Ford Asia Pacific Africa, where a $6 million pretax profit in 2013 showed a year-over-year gain of some $101 million when compared to losses in 2012. Ford profits soar as problems mount

Mon, 19 Aug 2013

Ford is doing well. It can't make enough examples of its new Fusion, it can barely make enough of the aging F-150, it's getting good brand rankings, people like its turnaround story, it's selling oodles of product and its quarterly profit numbers end in the word "billion." As other high-flying examples have demonstrated over the past few years, though, big numbers can come with problems that aren't exactly small.
Automotive News has published a good "nutshell" report of Ford's progress and problems. The Dearborn automaker's optimistic "general label rule" determination of gas mileage for the C-Max Hybrid has led to lawsuits, hybrid software updates, a downward revision of C-Max fuel economy and millions in rebates. AN notes the C-Max was the "worst-scoring model in this year's J.D. Power Initial Quality Study," but Ford will probably be happy that it managed not to be mentioned further in the study's results after last year's mediocre showing. Its MyTouch and SYNC systems, the bugbears sabotaging Ford's J.D. Power results, have also led to lawsuits, software updates, more software updates and a center console rethink. On top of that, the 1.6-liter EcoBoost in the 2013 Ford Escape that Ford called a "hero" was soon catching fire for three different reasons. And let's not even get into the troubled launch of the Lincoln MKZ.
The Automotive News piece notes that industry observers have been surprised at Ford's stumbles because everything has been looking so good. Nevertheless, there is still the issue of those billions in profits - the company is doing plenty of things, plural, right. Ford says it is tackling its problems, hiring engineers and instituting new quality control processes as part of its effort to find solutions. The test will be to see if in a year from now we begin the discussion of these issues with "Remember when Ford...", or "Problems continue at The Blue Oval."
