1966 Ford F100 Restomod Hot Rod on 2040-cars
Dodge City, Kansas, United States
You are currently bidding on a “one of one” kustom, hot rod truck. This road proven, 1966 Ford F100 short bed pickup is channeled over a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis chassis, floor pan and running gear has right at 10,000 miles since built. This truck has that clean, low profile look. Satin black paint (NOT PRIMER), and a low, lean, aggressive stance, gives it that old skool, rat rod look. This stance is accomplished the right way. The body is
channeled over the existing Grand Marquis chassis and maintains the OEM floor
pan. The suspension remains stock, (NO CUT SPRINGS) and uses original Grand Marquis
parts for ease of maintenance. This truck is powered by a Fuel Injected 4.6L V8 with
automatic, overdrive transmission. The factory Mercury wiring harness is still
complete and unmolested. The OBD2 port is still available for use with the scan
tools that shops use for code reading.
It also utilizes the factory original Grand Marquis rear differential. All-wheel, power disc brakes and power
steering makes this truck very driver friendly.
Mounted on the factory Mercury firewall, is the still stock Grand
Marquis Dash. This allows for A/C, cruise, original functioning gauges, and a
Pioneer CD player, with remote. You and
a friend can get comfortable in brand new, Procar Mustang style, low-back
bucket seats.
The exterior has some very clean subtle features, as well. Gloss black wheels, with chrome Spider Caps, give just enough shine to accent this blacked out cruiser. Narrow whitewalls on tires with less than 100 miles give that old skool, kustom look. Tinted windows carry the “murdered out” theme, throughout the truck. Tint is 35%, which is standard in most places. Some other features are a custom steel roll pan, Frenched power retractable antenna, and LED tail lights. When you want to lift the kustom tonneau cover, there is an air tank and air cylinder, to do so with ease. Underneath, you will find a brand new, roll in bed liner. Also, the truck comes with the original Grand Marquis spare tire. This is a very nice, quality built truck, and has a National Street Rod Association Safety Approval. It has all the amenities of a new, production car, while carrying the look of an old skool, kustom hot rod. Whether you are looking for your next daily driver hot rod or your next Power Tour ride, you have found the right truck! I would drive this hot rod anywhere!
Truck is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the listing at any time. So don't wait until the last minute to bid as it may be gone by then! In order to comply with applicable Title Laws Vehicle has a Special Construction/Reconstructed Title with assigned Kansas VIN.

Ford Tourneo ready for duty in Connect, Courier and Custom flavors [w/videos]
Wed, 06 Mar 2013Ford was relatively quiet at the Geneva Motor Show, but it did take the opportunity to roll out its new family of Tourneo vans: the Courier, Connect, Grand Connect and Custom. As the passenger version of the Transit cargo vans, the new range of Tourneo models vary from the B-segment Courier up to the fullsize Custom. The Connect and Grand Connect are based on the redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect.
With an overall length just three inches longer than the Fiesta hatchback, the Tourneo Courier seats four to five passengers, and it offers a choice of three engines: the 1.0-liter EcoBoost or two small diesels. Like the 2014 Transit Connect was saw in Paris last year, the Tourneo Connect comes in a five-seat configuration while the Grand Connect can seat seven. Finally, the Tourneo Custom seats up to nine passengers, and it is available in two lengths up to 210 inches long putting it just six inches shorter than a standard-length E-Series van and about a foot longer than the Explorer.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers
Fri, 20 Dec 2013Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.
2014 Ford Fusion to get 1.5L EcoBoost three-cylinder?
Tue, 09 Apr 2013Just one year after launching the all-new 2013 Fusion, Ford is reportedly set to alter the sedan's powertrain lineup with the addition of a new 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder EcoBoost engine. A member of Blue Oval Forums apparently got their hands on the ordering guide for the 2014 model year Fusion, and this 1.5-liter mill is set to be introduced with late availability.
This lines up with other news about the Chinese-market Mondeo being offered with a new 1.5-liter EcoBoost - a derivative of the 1.0-liter triple that will come to North America under the hood of the Fiesta (note: the 1.0 is also offered in the current Euro-spec Mondeo). In the Chinese application, the larger three-pot engine produces 177 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, which is very close to the current 1.6-liter inline-four's output numbers of 178 hp and 184 lb-ft.
What's interesting, however, is that the 1.6-liter engine will reportedly still be offered in the Fusion, but only with the six-speed manual transmission. The smaller 1.5-liter EcoBoost will only be mated to a six-speed SelectShift automatic, and will feature start/stop. This means that while the 1.5 is slightly down on power compared to the 1.6, it could easily improve fuel economy numbers, allowing the Fusion to regain the title of having the best mileage in the segment, likely besting the 38 miles per gallon of the Nissan Altima. Currently, the Fusion 1.6 is rated at 23 mpg city and 36 mpg highway.
