For sale is the World Famous Pirate Custom Shop Truck located in Monticello, NY.

Our shop has moved overseas to Denmark and the time has came to sell off inventory and our loyal shop truck.

It is a 1966 F100 Short Bed, with a 350 Chevy Motor and Auto Transmission. It has been channeled and placed on a reinforced 1986 Caprice frame.

It was built in 2006. Since then, it has been all over the United States - as far as California and Vegas Custom shows.

It is a good runner, even for those long halls. It has been sitting at our Monticello-based shop for about a year.

The other day, it started right up with the help of a good battery and some fresh gas. It could use a good tune-up and some new belts. The Edelbrock Carb still does a good job.

This is by no means a show car. It has dents, scratches and some good looking patina on the hood.

RAT ROD, IN ALL ITS GLORY.

The dent on the roof is from a fallen branch. It would not take much to pop back out - we just thought it gave it more character.

The truck is sold AS-IS, where-is. I will answer all questions to best of my knowledge.

Fun truck! Still love it, but time to let someone else enjoy it.

If it was summer I would say drive it home, but this time of year definitely bring a trailer.

Please do not bid if you have no intention of buying this truck or if you don't have money.

Thanks and Good Luck!!!

Ford talking unibody Ranger replacement

Mon, 18 Feb 2013

Now here's some welcome news. Car and Driver reports Ford is seriously mulling a replacement for the recently deceased Ranger, but the successor to the compact pickup's throne may not look anything like what we've seen from the nameplate in the past.
While speaking at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show, Doug Scott, marketing manager for Ford Trucks, said there's still a market for a smaller pickup, but that buyers expect to see a larger differentiation between the smaller utility vehicles and their full size counterparts in price, capability and fuel economy.
According to Scott, that means a vehicle with a payload capacity of around 1,000 pounds paired with a towing capacity of 3,000 pounds and "a dramatic reduction in fuel consumption." But the biggest piece of that recipe is the price tag, and Scott says to keep the MSRP far enough away from the already cheap F-150, the answer could come in the form of a unibody design. Scott says target customers in this market don't care whether the truck has a traditional frame or not, so long as it's tough enough to do the job and has the capability they need.

Watch how a Ford Raptor rolls down the assembly line in Dearborn

Sun, 30 Mar 2014

Bloomberg TV reporter Matt Miller is the proud new owner of a pretty killer truck. How do we know? The reporter headed to Dearborn, MI to Ford's assembly plant, with a film crew in tow, to see exactly how his new F-150 SVT Raptor and its mother-loving 6.2-liter V8 engine, was screwed together.
The resulting video does an excellent job of summing up how an assemblage of parts and pieces is turned into a triple-black Raptor, thanks to the work of some 1,000 employees and about 20 hours of real time. Click through below to see how the truck is born, with a surprise cameo playing the part of delivery driver at the end.

Ford Fusion production scaled back just 3 months after it was accelerated

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

Three months after kicking off production of the Ford Fusion at its Flat Rock, MI factory, Ford Motor Company is taking steps to trim output in the face of heavily discounted competition from Toyota and a growing supply of vehicles.
The addition of Fusion production in Flat Rock - which also builds the Mustang - was meant to be what pushed the handsome mid-sizer past its arch-nemesis, the Toyota Camry. An extra facility building Fusions was also meant to curb the growing demand for Ford's highly profitable sedan.
But with word that Flat Rock would take "approximately" one extra week off for the holidays combined with an 88-day supply of Fusions - reportedly due in no small part to what Morgan Stanley analyst Adam Jonas called "aggressive discounting of the Camry" - some analysts are now beginning to wonder if Ford may have overextended itself by adding a second Fusion facility to the mix.
