1966 Ford F-100 Pickup on 2040-cars
Sherman Oaks, California, United States
This truck is beautifully presented and has many upgrades to make it a great driving vehicle. Power comes from a later model 302 Ford V8 engine with a Holley 4-barrel carburetor that is coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission with automatic overdrive and a Ford 9-inch rear end. It has air conditioning fitted and has power steering and power brakes, discs up front. It also has power windows and tilt steering column. The sound system is an Alpine AF/FM/CD Player equipped with Sirius Satellite radio with USB and Audio Jacks. The engine bay is very nicely detailed with lots of bright work, powder coating and cadmium plated hood hinges. Wheels are nicely presented in Grey 5-spoke with nice big Chrome center caps and B.F. Goodrich 235/70/15 tires at the front and 255/70/15 at the rear. The instruments are set in a custom cluster with Oil Pressure, Volt Gauge, Fuel Gauge, and Water Temperature mounted in the center and straddled by the Speedometer and Tachometer. Another nice feature installed is a roof dome light with two individual map lights and two LED foot well lamps that turn on with the door open or by way of headlamp switch. Finished in Marina Blue with Grey Interior.

Watch how Ford torture-tested the 2015 F-150
Wed, 09 Apr 2014The Ford F-150 has been the best-selling truck in the United States for the past 37 years, and the best-selling vehicle outright for the past 32. That's quite a legacy, and thus, it's no surprise that Ford worked super-duper-extra hard on creating the all-new, aluminum-bodied 2015 F-150 that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this year.
During an event at the company's headquarters in Dearborn, MI this week, we were able to see all of the ways that Ford endurance tests, not just the new F-150, but all of its vehicles. From examining things like light exposure to interior materials and paint finishes, to making sure that corrosion absolutely does not happen when steel components come in contact with aluminum panels in the new truck. The goal: ensure that the new F-150 is nothing short of "Built Ford Tough."
But that's only a small part of the story. Of course, the new F-150 has to be able to withstand whatever a pickup buyer might throw at it - and truck buyers arguably demand the most from their vehicles. So in an effort to convey just what the new F-150 had to go through before being given the final go-ahead, Ford has released a series of videos, showing how its new halo truck was indeed torture tested.
Ford reports 58% drop in Q2 profits on European losses
Wed, 25 Jul 2012
Ford Motor Company announced Wednesday that it has posted a $1 billion profit for the second quarter of 2012. That sounds like good news for the Blue Oval, until you take into account that Ford posted a $2.4 billion profit for Q2 a year ago. That is a substantial 58 percent loss.
Ford also posted $465 million in international losses, with $404 million of those losses coming directly from Europe. The automaker also increased its European loss projections to $1 billion for 2012, due in large part to the economic crisis overseas, which has resulted in increased unemployment and decreased consumer confidence.
Ford recalling select Taurus, Explorer and Lincoln MKS models over fuel tanks
Sun, 31 Mar 2013Ford is recalling certain 2012 Taurus, 2013 Explorer and 2012 Lincoln MKS models over fuel tank concerns. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, vehicles built between July 19, 2011 and March 15, 2012 may have been built with fuel tanks that have a "marginally sealed seam" on the side. Those seams may not provide the strength necessary to protect the tank from rupture during a collision. They may also leak. The recall covers a total of 3,037 vehicles. NHTSA says that leaked fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could easily cause a fire.
Dealers will inspect the tanks and replace them as need be free of charge. Owners can expect to be notified once the campaign begins on or around April 22, 2013. You can read the full NHTSA recall notice below for more information.
