1965 Ford F100 Long Bed Rat Rod on 2040-cars
Littleton, Colorado, United States
Up for sale we have my 1965 Ford F100 long bed. The truck has the Ford 352fe V8 and four speed manual transmission. Truck has had recent tune up including points, cap, rotor, coil, plugs, plug wires and new fuel pump. It runs awesome and sounds great with the dual exhaust dumping out on the sides. The body is in good shape with decent paint. Shines great but there are a few runs in the paint. As you can see in the pictures the bed is the worst part of the body and it's not that bad. Black wheels and decent tires gives the truck a nice rat rod look. Interior of the truck is complete and in great shape. The seat has been recovered with new foam and is very comfortable. Good stereo with IPod connectivity. New door weatherstripping and Ford "I-Beam" emblems. This truck drives straight and true. Hard to believe it is fifty years old when you're driving it. All lights and gauges work even the fuel gauge (replaced the sending unit). Windshield is cracked but still useable. Previous owner replaced the floor pan. All in all this is a great start for someone wanting a reliable and drivable classic truck. Take it as far as you want or enjoy it the way it is like I have. Just for clarity this truck is 50 years old and is not a trailer queen or restored to new condition. It is a great truck that I am offering at a great price. It is sold as is and buyer is responsible for shipping. I will help anyway that I can. Thanks for looking.

How Ford plans to handle insurance and repair questions surrounding new aluminum-bodied F-150
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Building a car out of aluminum has a number of benefits - the lighter weight allows the vehicle to be more agile, more fuel efficient, make better use of its power and be more resistant to dings and dents. The downside to the advanced construction, though, is that repairs are both challenging and expensive. That's troubling for the new, aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, because it's kind of made a name for itself as a rugged, durable work vehicle.
How will the legions of Ford buyers cope when it comes time to insure and repair their new trucks? Well, according to Ford, it's expecting a ten-percent jump in insurance costs for the aluminum-bodied F-150, although Ford's truck marketing manager, Doug Scott, was quick to point out that the F-150 is generally cheaper to insure than its competition from Ram and General Motors. "At the end of the day, that's sort of a wash," Scott told Automotive News at last week's Detroit Auto Show. "We've spent a lot of time and feel very comfortable that that's not going to be an inhibitor."
The other issue facing Ford is the distinct lack of body shops that have the training or equipment to repair aluminum-bodied vehicles. AN cites an estimate from the Automotive Service Association claiming that of the 30,000 independent body shops in the US, less than 10 percent are able to work on aluminum.
Ford recalling nearly 5,700 2014 F-150s for power steering issue
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Ford is recalling 5,675 of its 2014 F-150 pickups over an issue with the electric power steering system. There haven't been any injuries or accidents due to the issue.
Ford spokesman Mike Levine told Autoblog that the "electric power-assisted steering and motor position sensor gear were incorrectly installed by a supplier," leading to the recall.
While the recall is larger on the surface, it's important to note that only 260 trucks have been delivered to customers. The remaining pickups are currently en route to dealers. The affected vehicles were manufactured between May 26 and June 19.
Ford GT to be revived, Le Mans battle upcoming
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Ford dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969, scoring four consecutive wins. Wouldn't it be great if the Blue Oval could go back to France for the 50th anniversary of that performance and show it can still compete in international endurance racing? Actually, the latest rumors indicate that could be exactly the case, and the car taking that checkered flag could be another revival of the Ford GT.
As the rumblings go, Ford wants to use a new supercar to take another crack at Le Mans, after considering some other possible alternatives. Substantiating these musings are reports that a Blue Oval rep was reportedly on hand for a recent meeting about 2016 GTE-Class rules, according to Road and Track. That would put the new GT in the same racing class as the Corvette, Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 and others.
It's not all about racing, though. If you win on Sunday, you want something to be able to sell on Monday. The revived GT is reportedly still a mid-engine supercar, but the exact engine is unclear. It's possible that it could even be shown or announced at the Detroit auto show in January, according to Motor Trend.
