1959 Ford F-100 Short Bed, Side Step, Hot Rod Truck Pickup

Builder collected rust free components to put together this great little truck.

  • Truck Frame from a 1959
  • Truck Bed from a 1959 (one of 501 specialed ordered for the Navy that is taller then standard side step beds)
  • Truck Cab from a 1960

Features:

Fresh 302 includes Stainless Steel Values, Flat Top Pistons, High Volume Oil Pump, New 4-Barrel Carb, Aluminum High Rise Manifold, Long Tube Headers, Nicely Tuner Mufflers (has the sound!), New Cooling System, Dual Electric Fans with Manual Control for Slow Crusing, Power Steering, Steering Column from a 1964 Galaxie, Power Brakes with Large Front Discs, Mustang Seats with Power on the Driver's Side, Custom Built Fuel Cell in Bed, Cool Looking Old School Craiger Mags, Recent Front Suspension Rebuilt.

The paint is not the best. This is a fun truck to drive, fast, gets lots of thumbs up. Is not a rattler, except over the rail road tracks. Drives straight as an arrow hands free at 70 (this is not a habit~just testing). Did have a bump shifter on fabricated console, but I replaced with a colume shift for more cabin room.

Sounds incredible with exhaust exiting under the side steps. Has new front and back glass. Needs a replacement passenger side door glass. Will include plans to install a Mustang gas tank between rear frame rails, which was going to be my next project while replacing bed floor. This is a nice looking truck, but I consider it a driving project because of remaining small projects: interior, tank and bed floor.

Purchased from builder 5 years ago and don't drive it enough to keep. On another note, the truck is titled as a 1960 because of the cab.

First retail 2015 Ford Mustang headed to Barrett-Jackson

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Want to be the very first person to own a 2015 Ford Mustang GT? Here's what you'll need to do: be in Scottsdale, AZ on January 18 for the Barrett-Jackson auction and bring a very big checkbook. Having a passion for charity isn't a bad idea either.
Yes, the first 2015 Mustang to be sold to the public will be crossing the block at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale, with proceeds from the auction going to JDRF, the charity formerly known as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
"Ford Mustangs have always been among the most popular collector cars at Barrett-Jackson Collector Car events," said the president of Barrett-Jackson, Steve Davis. "While every collector wishes they had snapped up the first Mustang sold in 1964, this is an opportunity to realize that dream in a different way."

Jay Leno sees how the other half lives with CHP cop cars new and old

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

Comedian Jay Leno is changing gears from driving fast cars to checking out some of the police cruisers that regularly chase down and dish out punishment to those fast cars. In this episode of Jay Leno's Garage, we get the lowdown on the modifications made to the Ford Explorer for the Interceptor package (which looks pretty tough in its California Highway Patrol livery).
The new Ford is cool, but cooler still are the pack of classic CHP cars that Jay has along for the episode. A 1982 Mustang, 1966 Dodge Polara, 1970 Mercury Monterey and 2000 Crown Victoria are all in the shop. Better still, Jay lays out an argument for ones of the classic cruisers as the best cop car of all time. Get your guesses in now, and then scroll down to watch and learn.

Ford could post best-ever profits in Q1 2013

Tue, 23 Apr 2013

Analysts are saying that Ford Motor Company may have earned a record $2.7 billion pretax profit in North America during the first quarter of 2013, a number that represents its highest first quarter profit ever. The impressive earnings are further proof that the American automaker is making a solid comeback as the economy begins to recover.
Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan Chase are estimating that Ford's first quarter North American profit may have topped 12 percent. The firm cited the automaker's fresh lineup, but noted that CEO Alan Mulally needs to uphold the pace as the company works to gain ground in the car and utility segments.
Ford's success has been led by increased demand for its F-Series pickup, the best-selling vehicle in the US for 31 years, and by the Fusion sedan that recently recorded its best-ever quarterly sales in the domestic market. Ford is expected to release its first-quarter revenue on Wednesday, of this week.
