This is my 1958 Ford f-100. Its in really good running condition and can be driven anywhere you need to go. It has a 350 engine and 700r auto overdrive trans. It will go down the road at 70-80 miles an hour with no problem. A lot of work has been done and really must be driven and seen in person to appreciate but I will do my best to decribe it. Here is what has been done: engine: 350 engine, electric fan, aluminum radiator, holly double pumper carb, elect ignition, Digital controller, custom stainless headers and complete stainless exhaust, chrome value covers Trans: rebuilt 700r4 auto trans w/ mild shift kit. Front end: 69 Malibu w/ power brakes and power steering, tracks great down the road nice and smooth. Rear end: 9" ford w/ cruising gears. Tires & Wheels: Rally type rims, new caps and trim rings. Newer tires at all four corners Interior: New bucket seats, new carpet w/ chrome padding, Lokar shifter, am/fm cd w/ elect eq w/ iPod hock up, tilt wheel, white face gauges auto meter, custom center arm rest housing a Kenwood flat 12" sub woofer, 6.5 Infinity kappa door speakers, amp under passenger seat. All new glass, windshield, back, sides and wings, new channel kit in doors and most importantly brand new wiring thru out, Painless kit. Exterior: Well it should speak for itself. Cool patian all the way around the truck with a little rust thru out, custom pin stripping & custom made snap on bed cover .
Over all this is a very nice custom truck and anyone lucky enough to own this one of a kind will not be dissapointed. Please fell free to email me with any questions that you may have or just come by and take it for a drive in person. I encourage and welcome an inspection of the truck in person or third party or mechanic. All sales are final and because of the trucks age it will be sold AS IS. Ford forced to recall Escape over fire risk yet again
Tue, 26 Nov 2013Recalls happen. Automakers hope they won't, but they do. And that's alright, for the most part, because cars are designed (and to a large degree still made) by humans, and humans make mistakes. So we forgive them, as long as the problem is resolved. Only in the case of the Ford Escape, the problem seems to keep coming back.
That's why Ford is calling in the Escape yet again due to fire concerns. The issue revolves around problematic fuel lines in 9,469 units manufactured between October 5, 2011, and July 11, 2012, all of which use the 1.6-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder engine.
As you yourself may recall, the Escape was subject to a string of recalls last year that resulted in a $17 million fine. One of them was over this very same issue, which Ford apparently didn't rectify the first time around. Let's hope this time is the last time.
How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made
Tue, 06 Aug 2013We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.
A closer look at the 2015 Ford F-150
Thu, 16 Jan 2014Despite having to share Ford's Detroit Auto Show stand with the hot new 2015 Mustang, the brand-new F-150 was arguably an even more important debut. Why? Ford moved some 700,000 examples of its F-Series truck in 2012, making it not only the best-selling pickup truck, but the top-selling vehicle in the US, by a long-shot.
The 2015 F-150 raises the bar for pickup trucks in a big way, with big-time use of aluminum. Because of this, roughly 700 pounds have been removed from the truck's overall weight, making it even more efficient than before, while still offering all of the capability that pickup owners expect. And with a host of engines under the hood, including a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the 2015 F-150 will surely offer something for everyone.
During the Detroit Auto Show, west coast editor Michael Harley took a closer look at the new F-150, talking to some of the truck's engineers. Have a look at the full video, below.
