ABSOLUTELY ONE OF A KIND!! VINTAGE!! 1971 Ford F100 custom line long bed with a TIRE SMOKIN 390 BIG BLOCK with less than 10,000 miles on rebuild done by Advanced Engine Machine of Salina, KS. This truck is a BLAST to cruise around in or to PUT THE PEDDLE TO THE FLOOR SLAMMING THROUGH THE GEARS. The motor was done up right, nothing excessive just a MILD CAM with some cylinder head work, joined with an PERFORMANCE ALUMINUM INTAKE and HOLLY CARBURETOR. The roar of this beast is a DEEP THROATY SOUNDING EXHAUST with HEADERS running into 2 1/2" pipes, muffled with FLOWMASTER 40 series, finished off with down tubes right before the rearend.

As for the cosmetics of this HotRod - this truck is NOT A SHOW TRUCK I would call it a "10 footer" (looks great from 10 feet away) My Friend rebuilt this truck from the ground up with a whole NEW FRONT CLIP (fenders and hood) NEW WINDSHILED AND GASKET, CUSTOM STEERING WHEEL, TINTED WINDOWS, NEW DOOR PANELS, DOOR/WINDOW SEALS, The seat is a bench seat with a middle console from a newer truck, the bed has a SPRAY ON BED LINER. I have to admit the color choice is not one I would have picked but its green with some metallic flakes. In the right light you can see inconsistencies in the metallic flake. Also there are some runs in a couple areas on the roof of the truck. The wheels are American Racing with low profile radial tires with lots of tread life. I bought a spare tire for it when I was taking it on long trips (its never been used so its like new)

The truck is extremely reliable for an antique. I have taken it on multiple trips to Missouri (couple hours from here) never once had any issues. The one thing that does need addressed is the brakes. I took the truck out for the first time in months the other day and the brakes werent very responsive (probably just need bled because they worked great six months ago) Another thing that I have noticed is some signs of rust and a couple spots as shown in the photos. And one last thing the gauges on the dash weren't working this last time I took it out either (not sure what caused that) My friend INVESTED OVER $7,000 into this truck and I hate to part with it especially  since I bought it at a fraction of that price at $1500 but it has just been sitting and it needs to go to someone that can show it off and appreciate it. Feel free to send me a message with any further questions or photos. You will see there is also video posted so you can hear it run. I am not looking to get rich off this truck only interested in getting the money I have invested back so the RESERVE IS SET EXTREMELY LOW

Spy shooter claims proof of upcoming aluminum Ford F-Series Super Duty

Thu, 26 Jun 2014

Ford has already confirmed that the 2015 F-150 (pictured above) was just the beginning for its more extensive use of aluminum. CEO Alan Mulally said it himself during the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. We've even already seen the future Raptor testing with an aluminum body. But a recent discovery from an intrepid spy photographer might indicate that the lightweight metal is coming to the Blue Oval's Super Duty pickups in their upcoming generation, as well.
According to Automotive News, a spy shooter in Colorado spotted a prototype for the next-gen F-350 testing. He happened to have a magnet on hand and got close enough to check the truck out. When he held it up to the metal in the bed, it didn't stick, which signaled to him a switch from steel to aluminum.
Obviously, this claim raises some questions. Given that it was a test vehicle, one possibility is that the Blue Oval is just evaluating the feasibility of switching to aluminum for the Super Duty trucks, not necessarily committed to it yet. Ford has been testing it quite exhaustively, after all. In fact, much of the rest of the truck in question was covered in camouflage, so it's possible that the magnet failed to work along the rest of the body not because it was aluminum, but because it wasn't powerful enough to get through the disguising material. Thus, the lightweight metal's use could be far less substantial than on the new F-150. Still, it was a clever idea for the cameraman to check things out and might have given us the first hint about brand's next heavy-duty models.

Watch Tanner Foust hustle the Fiesta ST 'round the 'Ring

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

The last time we saw Tanner Foust at the Nürburgring he was sloshing an SVT Raptor from kerb to kerb. Sticking with Ford but swapping keys, this time the drift champion and Top Gear USA host goes to the opposite end of the manufacturer's tuner garage and plucks a Fiesta ST for 'Ring duty.
The 179-horsepower front-wheel-driver acquits itself well by the end of the video. But be warned, Foust doesn't set a 'Ring time and it's shot like a commercial... because that's what it is. Still, you can enjoy all two minutes and 31 seconds of it below.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
