I purchased this vehicle new in 2005, and I really do not want to part with my baby. However, we have a real baby on the way, and we are trying to buy our first home. Also, I am buying my dads old truck which is sentimental to me since he passed away a few years ago.

This Sport Trac is in like new condition with a few minor scratches. The paint on the hood and roof has had minor paint cracks for years. They are barely noticeable and have not gotten worse, so I did not get it repainted. I tried to show this in the last photo.

I added aftermarket smoke headlights, aftermarket alarm system, black tail light covers, Ford Factory dealer installed cruise control, Rain Guards, Soft Tonneau Cover, Hidden Hitch, K&N air filter with open filter box, and aftermarket Auxiliary Input (MP3) to the factory radio. I have the factory headlamps to go with the truck. I installed factory fog lamps, but I never connected the wiring (for exterior looks only). It has fairly new tires, brakes, alternator, and battery. The windshield and front bumper cover were damaged by an idiot throwing rocks in downtown Orlando several years ago and replaced. The odometer was blinking in and out, so I had it replaced by Jarrett Gordon Ford a couple months ago. Safelite is coming Thursday to repair a recent rock chip in the windshield.

I have records of every oil change, every repair, and a detailed mileage log for almost everywhere this truck has been.

It has never been driven on the beach or in snow, and I wash and wax it regularly. There are no mechanical issues with this truck, and it has never had any accidents. I meticulously maintain my vehicles at the dealerships, and I drive them well over 200,000 miles. I just traded my 98 Oldsmobile with 276,000 miles on it, and got top dollar due to the excellent condition.

I have a Clear Original Title in Hand. I will accept Cash, Money Order, PayPal, and we will write up a Florida bill of sale. You will need your own license plate to drive it home, or drive it without one to the Tax Collector and get one.

I will consider offers. This vehicle is for sale locally. I have the right to remove this listing at any time.

Send me a message if you want to make an offer, come look at it, or drive it.

Mysterious small Ford spied in Germany

Sat, 29 Jun 2013

Our spy photographers have just popped off a few shots of something curious. This little runabout was spotted in Germany out testing with a current-generation Ford Fiesta. We're fairly confident the machine is a Ford, but exactly which Ford model is up for debate. The hatchback could be the next-generation Ka, but we've also heard that the Blue Oval supermini might not get a replacement. Our shooter says the five-door is a bit smaller than the current Fiesta, though there is a chance that this rig is just an engineering mule for drivetrain development. Then again, it could be a model built specifically for the South African market or China, or not a Ford at all.
Whatever it is and wherever it's headed, you can check out in the gallery for a closer look before heading into Comments to weigh in with your best guess.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.

Ford F-450 claims best-in-class towing, company abandons practice of removing items to boost payload number

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

The ongoing heavy-duty truck battle between Ford and Ram is showing no signs of slowing down. The Blue Oval is trying to remove at least one point of contention between the two brands by testing its 2015 F-450 Super Duty using the Society of Automotive Engineers J2807 towing standard, which Ram also uses. In the new evaluation, the F-450 is rated at a max towing capacity of 31,200 pounds. That's an identical amount as under Ford's own, previous test.
"We leave no doubt with customers that the F-450 pickup truck has best-in-class towing of 31,200 pounds - whether tested using our own internal towing standards or SAE J2807," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president for Global Product Development, in the company's release.
At the same time, Ford is also changing how it calculates the F-450's payload. Instead of using its minimum curb weight as before, the brand is now using the truck's base curb weight. The revision lowers the pickup's rating to 5,300 pounds, compared to 5,450 pounds previously. The company said in its announcement that the reason for this is "aligning its payload rating practices with other manufacturers to make it easier for customers to compare vehicles." General Motors made a similar switch for its pickups in August.
