Description 2002 FORD EXCURSION / 7.3L DIESEL / LIMITED EDITION / 4X4
You are viewing low millage 2000 Ford Excursion with a 7.3 Power stroke turbo diesel engine and an automatic transmission with only 209K on it (THE OWNER MY BROTHER IN LAW USED THIS FOR WORK AND THE MAJORITY OF THE MILES ARE HIGHWAY MILES CROSS COUNTRY FOR WORK). This Excursion has a lot of power AND IS THE HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER 7.3 POWER STROKE THE BULLETPROOF MOTOR. The excursion has recently had a new exhaust and new tires replaced as well as the ball joints and tie rod ends replaced and runs straight down the road with no issues. Also the brakes were recently gone through and replaced the pads. The power stroke motor sounds great and runs solid. (SEE VIDEO OF MOTOR RUNNING AND DRIVING) The transmission feels solid. This truck looks really good and has routine oil scheduled oil changes. This Ford Excursion comes with the LIMITED EDITION trim: LEATHER seats, power seat, dual A/C, climate controllers, 3rd row seat and much more. The exterior is BLACK and GOLD is good condition and shows signs of wear and scratches. There is peeling paint on the rear door tailgate. The drivers door is missing the lock cylinder and the latch has a crack. There is some rust that has started to take place under the rear doors of the main body (SEE PICS) this would be a relatively easy fix. There is a screw hole in the passenger side of the hood which I believe was from someone installing a bug deflector and ran a screw up through the hood. The front drivers seat has two tears in it. (SEE PICS). The interior is tan and also in great condition for the year. The windshield will need replaced as it has a crack in it from the center of the windshield to the drivers side( SEE PICS.) Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos
Thu, 12 Dec 2013With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage
Mon, 03 Jan 2011The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Ford sells 7-millionth Explorer in America
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Say what you will about the evolution of the Ford Explorer, from roofed Ranger to body-on-frame sport utility vehicle to unibody crossover - the bottom line is that it's been a tremendously successful model for Ford. In fact, the Blue Oval automaker has sold seven million Explorer models in the United States alone.
The milestone, marked nearly a quarter-century after the introduction of the original in 1990, comes on the eve of the introduction of a new Explorer at the Los Angeles Auto Show this week. We don't yet know how the new Explorer will shape up, but we're mere days away from finding out.
Now heading into its sixth generation, the Explorer has formed the basis of Ford's utility lineup for over two decades. The Explorer landed on the market right around the time that the Bronco was trailing off, predating the company's expansion into larger SUVs like the Expedition and Excursion and crossovers like the Escape, Edge and Flex.
