If you've been looking for a vehicle to tow your boat this summer or camper and need to haul the family as well than my extremely clean 2002 Ford Excursion Limited with just 74k pampered miles is for you. Read on for a full description.

Mechanically this truck is solid. V10 motor fires right up and sounds very healthy. Transmission shifts just like it should with no slipping or funny shifts. Has a good PA inspection until 8/13. Just serviced. Steering is nice and tight with no shimmies or wandering. This truck has been very well cared for mechanically and it definitely shows. Has 4 Firestone tires that are like new I'd say about 90% tread left. We bought it off of a older couple who purchased it in 2006 with 40k from Kelly Cadillac and used it to tow the boat in the summer. Always serviced on time. A/C is ice cold. Rear A/C works.

Cosmetically you may not believe your eyes. Paint shines beautiful in the sun and has been garage kept and looks like it did when it was new. Body is nice and straight with no damage and I've looked and can't seem to find even a door ding. There are a couple light thin scratches almost like a scuff on the drivers side rear door. No rust on the truck at all. Frame is all original with no rust and hasn't been painted up to hide anything as you can see in the pictures. You just don't find them this clean. Interior is like new with no stains or tears on the carpets, seats or headliner. Rear seats look like no one has sat in them. Drivers seat has very minimal wear. No leftover french fries ground into the carpet or coffee stains. Just as fresh as they come guys. Older couple owned it and just took such good care of it all around.

Overall this truck will make your jaw drop with how straight and clean it is. You just don't find them this clean and well cared for with these miles. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at 717-823-3349. My name is Zach. I have a clean and clear title in hand. This truck is being sold by Platinum Car and Truck Sales, LLC in Elizabethtown, PA. Please if you have any questions before clicking, ask. I am only human and may have missed something that is important to you. Taxes and other fees are not included for PA buyers. A 30-day in-transit tag can be purchased for $100 for out of state buyers. If you are flying in I will be able to provide transportation from Harrisburg International Airport.

Ford F-450 claims best-in-class towing, company abandons practice of removing items to boost payload number

Tue, 02 Sep 2014

The ongoing heavy-duty truck battle between Ford and Ram is showing no signs of slowing down. The Blue Oval is trying to remove at least one point of contention between the two brands by testing its 2015 F-450 Super Duty using the Society of Automotive Engineers J2807 towing standard, which Ram also uses. In the new evaluation, the F-450 is rated at a max towing capacity of 31,200 pounds. That's an identical amount as under Ford's own, previous test.
"We leave no doubt with customers that the F-450 pickup truck has best-in-class towing of 31,200 pounds - whether tested using our own internal towing standards or SAE J2807," said Raj Nair, Ford group vice president for Global Product Development, in the company's release.
At the same time, Ford is also changing how it calculates the F-450's payload. Instead of using its minimum curb weight as before, the brand is now using the truck's base curb weight. The revision lowers the pickup's rating to 5,300 pounds, compared to 5,450 pounds previously. The company said in its announcement that the reason for this is "aligning its payload rating practices with other manufacturers to make it easier for customers to compare vehicles." General Motors made a similar switch for its pickups in August.

J Mays on the 2015 Ford Mustang

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

J Mays, head of design at Ford, may be retiring from the company after 16 years, but not before showing the world his swan song: the 2015 Mustang. Ford officially revealed its new coupe and convertible to the public at events around the world on Thursday, including a live unveiling on ABC's Good Morning America, and Mays was in attendance at the automaker's home event in Dearborn, MI, which is where we caught up with him for a few words about his new baby.
"It's a joy" to design the Mustang, Mays told Autoblog, adding that this sixth-generation coupe is his "favorite design so far." Of course, the 2015 model takes cues from all of the generations that came before it, but Mays said it was important to edit down the specific elements from previous models, leaving just enough off to let the customer "participate and fill in the blanks."
"If it doesn't sell itself, you probably aren't a Mustang fan."

Are you the next Ford Edge? [UPDATE]

Wed, 13 Feb 2013

What looks to be the next Ford Edge has been leaked in an apparent corporate Powerpoint presentation deck. Despite the thumbnail image's blurry and pixelated quality, it appears as if the next generation crossover will be staying close to its current aesthetic despite an all-new front clip with redesigned grille, headlamps, and lower fascia with integrated fog lights.
The upscale-minded Blue Oval CUV is due for a redesign in 2015, having just received a mid-cycle refresh for 2011. It isn't clear what changes lie beneath the new skin, either in terms of mechanicals or interior refinement, but we suspect Ford will be looking to put some distance between the next generation model and the new Escape, which is suddenly much more car-like and not that far off the more expensive Edge in terms of overall size, power or refinement.
UPDATE: Substituted clearer image - thanks, Sean!
