2002 Ford Excursion on 2040-cars
East Brady, Pennsylvania, United States
Feel free to ask me any questions about the car : lourdeswnorowski@netzero.net .
This 2002 Excursion has lived almost all of its life in sunny California. I have owned for the last 8 years and it
was used primarily for trips to our lake house in Havasu from CA. It was moved last summer to Erie PA and put in to
storage for the winter except for just 2 trips to a local ski resort 15 miles from our home. Otherwise it has never
seen snow or salt. Extremely clean under carriage as noted in the pictures. It is a Limited model however all the 2
tone colors have been eliminated to give the vehicle a nice clean look. New Katzkin leather was installed in 2012
and is still in perfect condition. New Nitto Terra Grappler All Terrain tires (275/70R18 10 ply) installed June
2015 for the drive out east and have less than 3000 miles on them since install. A Banks 6 Gun tuner with exhaust
was installed in 2010 and is set to medium power. This allows the truck to achieve 20.2 MPG fuel economy on the
freeway with excellent power. Kenwood sound system with Focal speakers, amp and subwoofer. Rear TV, center row
captains chairs, electronic brake control for towing. Running boards were taken from a 2010 Ford F-250 and match
the vehicle perfectly.

2015 Ford F-150 configurator is ready to go to work
Thu, 25 Sep 2014Ford is inching towards the on-sale date for the eagerly anticipated, aluminum F-150 pickup. While we're preparing to drive the new truck (expect our take on it sooner rather than later), the best-seller has reached another, albeit more minor, milestone as its online configurator has officially been switched on.
We took to Ford's consumer website to mess about with it and see just how ridiculous of a truck we can build. Among the fun things we discovered were these two nuggets - the most expensive truck we could configure was not the top-end Platinum model, but instead the King Ranch, which rang up at $65,955. The other exciting discovery? The new truck would be available in a questionable shade called Blue Jeans (shown above with the optional contrasting Caribou paint). Yep, Blue Jeans.
You can head over to Ford's consumer page and build your very own aluminum F-150 now. Take a look.
BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
Leno talks racing with NASCAR racer Joey Logano
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Jay Leno has to be under significant pressure knowing the appetite his fans have for a new Jay Leno's Garage video every week. This time, Jay takes a break from his usual format (something he's been doing with some frequency as of late) and goes back to his roots as a talk show host. There's no classic in the garage his episode with an interesting story to tell and a sumptuous exhaust note. Instead, the focus is purely on interviewing 23-year-old NASCAR racer Joey Logano about what it's like to be a racecar driver in his Ford Fusion.
Logano started racing at the tender age of six and has risen up the circle-track ranks to the big show of the NASCAR Sprint Cup. The two of them talk about what it's like to compete in the sport today compared to yesteryear, and Logano shares some racing anecdotes. Of course, they also get into what it's like to be on the racetrack controlling a car with about 850 horsepower, a four-speed manual transmission and brakes without any power boost. Scroll down to watch the video.
