Hi Folks,

Here we go, I've finally decided that with all of the vehicles that I have I should consider selling my Van Gogh Van.

I am an art dealer so when I found this van sitting in a warehouse in St Joseph MO I knew that I just had to have it.

It was painted by 5 artists over a 3 day period as part of an art car competition at the Trails West Art Festival, St. Joseph in August 2008 then used as advertising for Brown's Moving & Storage.

If you do a google search for it you'll find 80 or so pics of it being painted.

It was parked for 4 years when I bought it so it took several weeks of replacing parts before I even tried to start it but when I did turn the key it ran like a champ.

I've put about 2,000 miles on it & boy howdy does it get attention!

He's got some rust through areas in the rocker panels but I've sprayed foam to seal those areas.

I've replaced the brake lines, hard & rubber, battery, solenoid, rear door seals, flushed the fluids & it just passed it's Missouri Inspection this month.

There are 2 large areas on the sides for your company logos & this is a whole lot cheaper than a stationary billboard.

Basically this is a good running $1,500 van with a $10,000+ paint job featuring several works one of the most famous Art Masters of all time, Vincent Van Gogh.

This is NOT a vehicle wrap, it's the real deal & there is not another one just like it anywhere.

It is a 1992 Ford Econoline E-150 Cargo with the 4.9 liter 6cyl & automatic transmission with about 179k miles & gets around 15 mpg.

Located in Lone Jack, MO, just 9 miles east of Lee's Summit, MO.

Paypal only please if non local buyer, if local $500 Paypal within 48 hours of auction ending balance can be cash when picked up within 3 days, NO checks of any kind.

Will gladly work with shippers that you hire but van will be paid for before it leaves here.

Clean & clear title in hand.

Check my feedback & bid to own since it's advertised locally & the auction may be ended if an acceptable local offer exceeds current bid price.

Thanks & have a great day,

Don

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch

Tue, 16 Jul 2013

A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.

1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express in Generation Gap showdown with 1933 Ford Pickup

Fri, 18 Jul 2014

Auto enthusiasts love a good debate, whether it's Mustang versus Camaro or Ferrari against Lamborghini. But how about a battle between two very different vintages of classic pickup trucks? In this case, the fight is between a 1979 Dodge Li'l Red Express and a 1933 Ford Model 46 truck with a flathead V8.
The shootout comes courtesy of the internet series Generation Gap, and its concept is super-simple. One guy prefers classics, and the other likes newer rides. They choose a category, pick two vehicles and put them head to head. In this case, neither is exactly modern, though. The Ford is more than old enough to receive Social Security checks, and the Dodge is hardly a young whippersnapper.
Other than both being pickups, these two models were made to serve very different functions. The Li'l Red Express was basically the progenitor of today's muscle trucks, with a big V8 that made it one of the quickest new models in its day (admittedly, 1979 was a rough time for automotive performance). On the other hand, the '33 Ford was just meant to work, with little pretense for anything else. One of the hosts describes it as "the simplest, most difficult" vehicle he's driven because of the tricky double clutchwork necessary to shift gears. Scroll down to watch the video and try to decide which of these two American classics you would rather have in your garage.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Mon, 25 Feb 2013

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.
