Year:1997 Mileage:327000
Location:

San Diego, California, United States

San Diego, California, United States

Selling my very loved and trusted 1997 e350 powerstroke diesel van with the legendary 7.3 motor.   This van is setup for work and travel. The front cabin has a fold down seat that converts into a very comfy bed and the back is blocked off and has a metal shelf on one side.   I have travelled with my tools in here to remote jobsites and still have plenty of room for sleeping cooking etc.  also includes trac-rac lumber racks. A Yakima box and Yakima swing away hitch bike carrier.

The motor in this truck is very strong quiet and efficient.  I track all of my mileage and my highway average is 20 MPG.   The transmission is smooth and strong only light and infrequent towing with this truck though I do have an electric brake controller hooked up.   Hoses and such have been changed for biodiesel compatibility. It has run amsoil synthetics in both the motor and the tranny for over 250000 miles with dual remote filters. Excellent maintenance and service history. This truck drives and stops straight.

The body is in good shape with a few dings and scratches but it is in good presentable shape.  It has lived a majority of if its life in the mountains of n. Cal so very very little rust.
The interior is clean and quiet. Seats have always been covered and are in good condition. The cabin area has additional insulation in the wall. Equipped with power door locks, windows and cruise control. There is a JVC cd/mp3/ USB head unit. Also includes an infinity 10" subwoofer and amplifier.

This truck has excellent maintenance and service records/history. My mechanic says that this is the smoothest running and cleanest 7.3 he has seen. No smoke at cold starts or under throttle.
A decent amount of work within the past few years means she is ready for another 150000. New fuel pump. Filters. Alternator, fresh batteries, Thermostat water pump and radiator. Recent front end work and brakes. Tires are at 25 percent. It has the super nice billstein shocks installed last year. Aftermarket wheels. New glowplugs last year when she was getting maintenance.
Only selling due to an extended travel to Costa rica for a new project. This truck drives and runs excellent and I do not want to sell her.... but.
This truck is ready to work and / or travel.

I can provide additional photos or video to give you a accurate view of this truck.

This van is being sold as is, with NO warranty expressed or implied.

Lincoln trumpets $129M investment, 300 new jobs in Louisville for MKC

Tue, 26 Aug 2014

Remember when we used to talk about how close Lincoln was to being axed and how it seemed any day now the Grim Reaper would use it as a car service back to the grave? Last time we did it was, oh, not even a month ago. What a difference 27 days makes: Ford and Lincoln are trumpeting a $129M investment in the Louisville Assembly Plant that builds the MKC.
In July the MKC was the third-best-selling Lincoln of the brand's six offerings, beat by the MKZ and - by a much smaller margin - the MKX. It has sold 2,895 units in the two months it's been on sale, which is more than half the year-to-date sales of the MKS, MKT and Navigator. It's already important, is what we're trying to say, and this is before the Chinese market gets a crack at it later this year.
The money headed to Kentucky will be joined by 300 new workers, another marker in Ford's march to create 12,000 hourly jobs in the US by next year. You can read more about it in the press release below.

Ford to cease Australian automaking operations after 90 years

Thu, 23 May 2013

Ford began manufacturing cars in Australia in 1925 with the Model T. In 2016, Ford will stop manufacturing cars Down Under, including the Falcon and the Territory SUV. Ford Australia CEO Bob Graziano has reportedly confirmed the closure of the company's Broadmeadows assembly plant and the Geelong engine plant, both in the state of Victoria. There will be 650 jobs lost at Broadmeadows, 510 sacrificed at Geelong. Of the roughly 3,000 workers the Blue Oval has in Australia, it's said it will try to retain about 1,000 of them at its R&D and product development facilities.
The writing hasn't just been on the wall, it's been a regular item in all the papers and on Ford's bottom line for years. As recently as 2003, Ford sold nearly 75,000 Falcons, but over the next four years, annual sales dropped by something like 10,000 units, and over the last two years, it has sold less than 20,000 per year. It isn't only Ford that has suffered - sales of the other large, locally produced sedan, the Holden Commodore, have also gone over the precipice, triggering the same kind of angst about Holden's continued existence. Ford is the smallest of Australia's local automakers, Holden and Toyota the others, and has posted losses of $AUD141 million last year ($136M US) and $AUD600 million ($580M US) in the past five years. Graziano said the cost of manufacturing is simply too expensive in the country, twice as high as Europe and three times as high as Asia, and there no way to make a business case for staying in the country.
In January 2012, Ford Australia announced it would stay in the country until at least 2016, but by July of the same year, most outside observers were quietly declaring that 2016 would be the last year of Ford Down Under, and even the speculation was making other observers nervous. Ford received money from the Victorian government last year to aid its refresh of the Falcon and Territory, which will continue on schedule for the 2014 model year. A front- and all-wheel-drive sedan on a global platform is predicted to replace the Falcon, with some other SUV expected to replace the Territory. The company says it still intends to expand its lineup in the country.

Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
