Two Owners since 1998.  First owner used it professionally on a limited basis with 35,000 miles in 9 yrs to 2007 (approx. 6,000m/yr).  I purchased it in 2007, majorly refurbished it with an upgraded look for high net worth clients and added 29,000 miles in last 7 years (approx. 4,000m/yr).  We used it typically only 6 times per year to bring in groups of high net worth clients to our ranch estate for 6 private dinners per year.  We're no longer offering the dinners, so we are selling the limo.   It looks, feels, and smells almost brand new inside as we made the following improvements in 2007:  replaced two front seats with leather-like vinyl gray luxury power seats, with power lumbar and heat, new DVD/VCP player with remote and Pioneer AM/FM CD player stereo, four 6 inch round speakers, new factory center console with storage, four MB Gunner 8 16x8 165/1-8c chrome rims with four BFG  Lt 245/75r-16 commercial tires (still in good shape), one Superspring SSA12 and mounting kit for improved handling and weight control, new commercial heavy-duty carpet throughout, mirror added in back, two flat screen TV's, new storage above mirror and above driver's seat, and sealed off storage accessible only from rear double doors, fixed air conditioner ducts, new lighter wood paneling throughout, repaired shades.  This year I replaced the tint on window to match the remainder of windows.   In addition, the following extras come with the vehicle:  one-ton heavy duty chassis, mirrored/neon ceiling with multi-colored lighting with mood lighting w/dimmers, window blinds, large icebox/champagne well, decanter/glass set, executive pack computer/cell phone hook-ups, large rear luggage/under seat storage, limousine exterior black paint and lighting package, backup camera and monitor works great, and there are four table leg insert holes in floor that allow for two custom-made tables for serving (not included, as these tables didn't come with my purchase either).  Four drink holders with electric buttons for keeping drink either hot or keeping it cold. Fiberglass super hi top, with extended running boards.  Buyer takes van as is with no warranties and is responsible for shipping. Would like $29,500 but will take best reasonable offer.  Please note that the yellow spot on the arm chair in this picture is only a sun glare.

Ford cleans up painting process with cameras

Thu, 22 Aug 2013

Knowing how the bacon gets made rarely entices us and, in the same vein, the same usually goes for knowing about how new cars get painted. But in both instances, however, quality - or a lack thereof - is instantly obvious. In terms of the latter, Ford is showing off its new paint quality process with 3D Dirt Detection Technology to find imperfections in vehicle paint more easily and more quickly.
This process - being performed on the F-150 SVT Raptor above - uses 16 computer-controlled cameras to create a three-dimensional model (inset) of the vehicle to detect flaws in the paint including dirt particles, which can then be buffed out manually. Ford says this new technology cuts down on time spent looking for paint flaws and gives workers more time to correct those that are discovered.
Currently, Ford only uses its 3D Dirt Detection Technology system at three factories (the Dearborn, MI facility, along with those in Louisville, Kentucky and Valencia, Spain), but it will soon spread to five more plants in North America. Ford has released a video and press release for this innovative and unexpectedly interesting process, both of which are posted below.

New Ford Police Interceptor tech protects cops' backsides

Mon, 22 Jul 2013

It was only a matter of time before law enforcement agencies would realize the potential of driver-assist technology for use in their Ford Police Interceptors, and, now that they have, those back-up cameras and radar systems won't be used just for parking, but for security, as well.
The surveillance mode system works when the camera or radar detects movement from behind the vehicle, and if it does when it's activated, an alarm will alert the officer inside the car, the driver's side window will roll up and the doors will lock, protecting the officer from an unwanted intrusion. The officer, of course, has the option to turn surveillance mode off, mainly in urban areas where pedestrians would constantly set the alarm off, and it can only be activated when the police car is in park.
Randy Freiburger, Ford's police and ambulance fleet supervisor, came up with the patent-pending idea when researching the needs of police officers and riding along with them, during which time he realized officers would be safer with an extra set of eyes watching the area behind their cars, especially at night or when they're completing paperwork, using the in-car computer or handling a radar gun. "Unfortunately, there are people with bad intentions who sneak up on police officers," he says.

Ford's Troller introduces even more rugged T4 SUVs in Sao Paulo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

The Bronco may be long gone from Ford dealerships back home, but down in Brazil its spirit lives on in the Troller brand. Founded independently in 1995, Ford do Brasil took over Troller in 2007 and has been teasing us with its rough-and-tumble SUVs ever since. So with the Sao Paulo Motor Show coming up, Troller has revealed this special version of the T4.
Looking even more rugged than the existing three-door sport-ute, this special T4 packs a snorkel, winch, upgraded bumpers and knobbier tires. We're not sure what to make of the "sophisticated" brown and tan paint job, but send it north and the Jeep Wrangler would have a new challenger on its hands... especially since the Toyota FJ Cruiser was discontinued.
Alongside the version seen here, Troller will also exhibit another T4 outfitted for rescue workers. Scope out initial details of both in the press release below, enclosed in both its original Portuguese and auto-translated into English.
