I am selling my 1992 4x4 diesel 12 passenger van. Has 64,427 miles on it. It gets about 15 MPG in city, 17-19 MPG freeway. When I purchased it 4 years ago I was told it was owned by the BayShore Fire Police off of Long Island New York. Engine runs good, overdrive transmission was just rebuilt, brakes are good, tires about 50%. Has a hitch. Has winch front bumper, with winch. It has been disconnected and I never tried to hook it up. Will need exhaust work and the front pinion bearings (pinion bearings are in the front axle) and the front axle universals will need replaced also. Transfer case works fine last I used it, front lock outs work fine last I used them. Within 3 months have replaced 2 new batteries. Within couple years have replaced new water pump and new radiator, new ball joints on one side and tie rod end on same side. Has rubber floor mat. Vinyl seats. Drivers seat has some cracking and a 2" rip in the seam (see picture) the rest of the seats are in good shape - no rips or tears. Vehicle runs really good, it is a pleasure to drive. Have always felt good driving my family places, have felt very secure - very safe. Body has been repainted at one time and repaired and it is starting to come back out in places - most of the repairs coming back out are in front of and behind the rear wheels- see pictures. The roof has never been repainted and it looks to be in good shape, the gutters and other places are starting to break back out with rust- see pictures. The rest of the body is in decent shape, the frame and undercarriage seem to be decent also. Thanks for looking, feel free to come and look, I would be glad if you want to do that. Also call or if you want any other pictures I would be happy to assist. Also would be happy to give advice assistance with shipping, however all shipping costs/details are on the buyer. We will only take bids from United States customers. Ed 440-779-8158

Auto critic calls out Corvette, Mustang and Cherokee faithful
Mon, 26 Aug 2013Most automotive purists fear change, but not without reason. Change, after all, did kill big-block V8s, along with most station wagons and manual transmissions. But change has also brought with it far more performance, safety and fuel economy - not to mention ridding the world of shag carpet interiors, bias-ply tires and those horrible motorized seatbelts of the early '90s.
By this time next year, the Chevy Corvette, Jeep Cherokee and next-generation Ford Mustang will all be on sale and will all, in some way, have angered or offended purists. To those critics, Mark Phelan of the Detroit Free Press is preemptively telling them to stop complaining - at least until they've all been driven. From the Corvette's square taillights and the Cherokee's radical nose to whatever pony car purists will harp on the 2015 Mustang for, Phelan's column points out the positives of automotive evolution and the negatives of staying the course for too long. That's fair enough, but do you think Phelan is on point, or all wet? Head on over to the Detroit Free Press to read his words, then have your say in Comments.
Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks
Fri, 19 Sep 2014It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.
Social media star Scott Monty leaves Ford
Thu, 22 May 2014It seems weird to think that an automaker could have a social media star, but Ford does. Or at least it did. Scott Monty, its Global Digital Communications Manager, led the company's team for almost six years and forged a reputation as being one of the most talented people in corporate social media. But the guru recently announced that he would be leaving the automaker for an undisclosed job elsewhere.
"I just decided the time was right. I am going to take a little time with my family, and I am going to start on a new adventure pretty soon," said Monty in an interview with AdWeek. He also explained a little about his theory of how companies should use social media. In his opinion, it should be a chance to go beyond standard marketing and build a relationship with people. Businesses need to have a broad focus for its online message, and using just one service isn't enough to be successful.
Under his guidance, Ford expanded its Facebook presence significantly. According to AdWeek, it launched the 2010 Explorer on the popular site. Also, when the company wanted to investigate selling electric models, it initially gauged the public's reaction on Facebook and then advertised them there first. Monty has been a major supporter of Twitter as well to broaden the company's communication with the public.
