This is a 99% rust free 1965 Ford Econoline Van!! It has a FUEL INJECTED 289 V8 motor and a three speed on the column transmission. It also has a beefed up rear end, 8.8 if I remember correctly. It runs and drives great! The only section of rust is above the rear wheel wells, that is it! It is a very small amount and easily repaired. The cab corners, step ups, floor. glass surrounds, everything: RUST FREE!

This is a cool old panel van with late 60's bubble windows in the sides and a trick sunroof!. The interior is rust free and has the original radio. Glass is good except for crack in windshield, but does not hinder visability. Could use tires but these will get you where you're going. This is hands down the best Econoline van you will find around here period. The side reads "Southwest Classic Mustang" which is where I got it. They do specialized mid-60's mustang work and completed the engine, tranny, rear end swapping on this van, so you know it's done right.

The van fires right up and runs and drives great. Transmission shifts perfectly as well and is still on the column.

Also, it has a BRAND NEW DUAL EXHAUST and sounds great! Not obnoxious, just right! No drone or vibration inside the cab!!

Very Low Reserve! Van is for sale locally, I reserve the right to cancel auction early should it sell.

I don't want to sell this, but I'm getting married and the toys have gotta go to pay for it all. I know folks say that a lot, but I'll show you a picture of the ring to prove how much I need money hahaha!

ADDED DETAILS/PHOTOS!!!

I had requests for some more pics of the front floor board section, those have been added. The floors are SOLID throughout this van. Minor surface rust only. The dash is perfect with the original radio, heater, knobs, etc. The heater is in, but the hoses are not connected right now. Old cars have a tendency to trickle that warm air even when the vents are shut, and since it's 100 degrees here in Oklahoma right now, I don't need that!

On Jul-19-13 at 13:34:01 PDT, seller added the following information:

******This van is indeed FUEL INJECTED!!!!!!!*********

If you look at the top of the picture of the floor taken from the rear doors you will see the dog house. To the left of that you will see two boxes, one houses the battery and the other contains the computer and electronics for the FUEL INJECTION.

Thank you for all of your interest in the van. I will continue to attempt to answer your questions as soon as I can! Good luck bidding!

Fewest vehicles ever found eligible for Most American survey

Mon, 30 Jun 2014

Once again, the most American car on the market is from an American brand. The Ford F-150 retained its number one spot in Cars.com's annual survey of the most American vehicles, trumping the Toyota Camry, which remains at number two.
Ford taking the top spot is small consolation, though, as the Detroit Three aren't too well represented here. General Motors scored a win at number seven, with the Chevrolet Corvette, while Chrysler squeaked in at number ten, with the Dodge Viper. Outside of those three vehicles, Toyota and Honda dominate the top ten.
What's most remarkable, though, is that there were so few cars available for this year's list.

Watch these Australian Ford and Holden muscle cars duke it out

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Australia's Motoring has put together a little video on two of the great performance vehicles available down under - the Holden VF Commodore HSV GTS and the Ford Falcon FPV GT R-Spec. And while both FPV and the Falcon might be on their way out, there's still plenty of time for a little head-to-head comparison between the two.
The cars aren't all that well evenly matched, though. The Ford boasts a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8, which the Aussies measure out at 449 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. The HSV, though, with its Corvette-derived, 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 is just too powerful - 576 hp and 545 lb-ft of torque.
Predictably, it doesn't end too well for the Ford. As the guys from Motoring point out, the new VF Commodore is just too new and too good, with its extra power and its adaptive dampers (GM's excellent MagnaRide). Interestingly, Motoring did point out that the Holden's electric steering is better than the Ford's hydraulic steering, which is a lot like a Porsche purist saying they prefer water-cooled engines to air cooled.

Detroit automakers mulling helping DIA avoid bankruptcy looting

Tue, 13 May 2014

It's not really a secret that the city of Detroit is in lots and lots of trouble. Even with an emergency manager working to guide it through bankruptcy, a number of the city's institutions remain in very serious danger. One of the most notable is the Detroit Institute of Arts, a 658,000-square-foot behemoth of art that counts works from Van Gogh, Picasso, Gauguin and Rembrandt (not to mention a version of Rodin's iconic "The Thinker," shown above) as part of its permanent collection.
Throughout the bankruptcy, the DIA has been under threat, with art enthusiasts, historians and fans of the museum concerned that its expansive collection - valued between $454 and $867 million by Christie's - could be sold by the city to help square its $18.5-billion debt.
Now, though, Detroit's hometown automakers could be set to step up and help save the renowned museum. According to a report from The Detroit News, the charitable arms of General Motors, Ford and Chrysler could be set to donate $25 million as part of a DIA-initiated campaign, called the "grand bargain." As part of the deal, the DIA would seek $100 million in corporate donations as part of a larger attempt at putting together an $816-million package that would be paid to city pension funds over 20 years. Such a move would protect the city's art collection from being sold off.
