Up for your consideration is this PERFECTLY PERFORMING 2003 Ford Crown Victoria LX. I bought this car in December 2004 as a pre-driven vehicle with only 9,000 miles and have lovingly cared for it in my almost 10 years of ownership. The car has a VERY LOW 63,728 miles and is mechanically PERFECT. I believe you could literally drive it away from my house straight to California without incident. I have a literal stack of maintenance receipts from my ownership including every oil change, BRAND NEW Michelin Symmetry 80,000 mile white wall tires in July 2010 when the car had 50,411 miles (it only has 63,728 right now), and a BRAND NEW Ford factory brand battery in December 2010! The car has spent every single day and night in my garage since I bought it. I don't leave it outside even between visits to the grocery store, I want my cars out of the elements. Now, this car is NOT physically perfect but VERY nice. I am pretty critical when it comes to the physical condition of my cars, this one could stand to have the bumpers repainted if you wanted the car to stand perfectly tall. The front bumper has a gouge in it from some careless driver in a parking lot. Other then that it's got the usual very small nicks and tiny dings you might find on an 11 year old car that is driven regularly. The strength of this car is absolutely it's mechanical state and VERY low miles for the year. Nice Crown Victoria's are getting harder to find these days since they stopped making them so don't miss this one!

Here are some of the factory options: V8, silver paint, gray leather interior, aluminum wheels, keyless entry, load leveling suspension, CD/cassette combo PLUS a factory CD disc changer in the trunk, power everything including dual power seats, cruise, tilt, automatic digital temp control and digital speedometer, etc., etc.

Please call Frank at 708-257-8539 to discuss.  If you are serious about buying this car you SHOULD call!  The car is also for sale locally!

Bill Ford augments his power by nearly doubling stake of supervoting shares

Fri, 28 Jun 2013

Bill Ford Jr. has more sway than ever over the automaker that bears his surname, as the great-grandson of Ford's founder has reportedly doubled is holdings of Class B Ford stock. According to a report from Reuters (which cites a newly discovered securities filing), he acquired some 3.7 million Class B shares from an unnamed family member.
Class B shares of Ford stock are held by descendants of Henry Ford and offer expanded voting power to their holders - Bill Ford Jr. now controls roughly 11.5 percent of the total Class B pool. Ford Jr. is also a one of five trustees that manage a voting trust that oversees the majority of these "supervoting" shares. In total, Reuters reports there are 71 million Class B shares that account for 40 percent of the voting power in the company, despite making up just 2 percent of the total volume of all Ford stock.
Ford Jr. served as Ford's CEO until 2006, when he stepped down to hire and make space for current CEO, Alan Mulally. The move to consolidate Ford family voting power, at least somewhat, is seen by many as a comforting sign with Mulally's departure from the company likely to happen in the next several years.

Devils, Details and Weight Reduction
There are many things I could call this exercise. A party is not one of them.
I've spent three days crammed in the axle well of this 1989 Mustang with nothing to keep me company beyond a trouble light, a DeWalt drill on the very last of its legs and billion razor sharp, red hot slivers of metal with an affinity for my most sensitive of regions. My joints are raw from crawling around on the concrete. I'm half deaf from the shriek of the spot weld cutter and the boom of the cold chisel and hammer.

Car companies used to cook up sales with recipe books

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

The evolution of automotive marketing has undergone a number of strange phases. Few, though, match the strangeness of the 1930s to 1950s, when automotive marketers turned to cookbooks as a means of promoting their vehicles. Yes, cookbooks. We can't make this stuff up, folks.
This bizarre trend led to General Motors distributing cookbooks under the guise of its then-subsidiary Frigidaire. Ford, meanwhile, offered a compilation of recipes from Ford Credit Employees (shown above). The cookbook-craze wasn't limited to domestic manufacturers, though. As The Detroit News discovered, both Rolls-Royce and Volkswagen got in on the trend, although not until the 1970s.
The News has the full story on this strange bit of marketing. Head over and take a look.
