United States

Up for sale is 1 of the surviving Bluesmobiles from Blues Brothers 2000 (the second Movie)

This particular car was the one featured with the Militia boat and dance sequence at Ed's Love Exchange..

William Boyd created the car (along with the 16 others) and it is he from whom this 1990 Ford Crown Vic 302 Bluesmobile was purchased.

 RESUME: <a href="www.imdb.com/name/nm1512539></a>
 FEATURED WORK:  <a href="www.flickr.com/photos/pigpen333/sets/72157613633904167></a>

She does require some TLC but is original from the movie. The 9 survivors were worker Bees and thus I have left her as is in that there is no new paint, graphics work or re-engineering.
I have added a Sony Xplode and that's about it. The Mojo is intact right down to when Dan Aykroyd had backed into something... ;)

The major distress is a rotted cross member obviously due to the Canadian winters.
It should be noted that this particular car was not submerged. Four cars were used in that movie sequence where it supposedly drives under the Ohio River.

One engine-less car loaded with concrete was pushed IN by truck,
One was built with an aquarium surround to show fish floating around,
Another engine-less car was finally pulled by truck OUT of the water.
My car, the 4th, was used for the beauty shot with the boat.

For those not interested in repairing right away I think it's pedigree would make it an ideal center piece for a Blues themed bar much like the Cadillac in the Hard Rock Cafe!

A closer look at the 2015 Ford F-150

Thu, 16 Jan 2014

Despite having to share Ford's Detroit Auto Show stand with the hot new 2015 Mustang, the brand-new F-150 was arguably an even more important debut. Why? Ford moved some 700,000 examples of its F-Series truck in 2012, making it not only the best-selling pickup truck, but the top-selling vehicle in the US, by a long-shot.
The 2015 F-150 raises the bar for pickup trucks in a big way, with big-time use of aluminum. Because of this, roughly 700 pounds have been removed from the truck's overall weight, making it even more efficient than before, while still offering all of the capability that pickup owners expect. And with a host of engines under the hood, including a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6, the 2015 F-150 will surely offer something for everyone.
During the Detroit Auto Show, west coast editor Michael Harley took a closer look at the new F-150, talking to some of the truck's engineers. Have a look at the full video, below.

Shelby GT500 laps N"urburgring in under 7:40?

Wed, 30 Oct 2013

A couple of weeks ago we brought you footage and official times of the new Chevy Camaro Z/28 lapping the Nürburgring. With a 7:37.47 lap time, the Z/28 emerged as the fastest muscle car ever to lap the circuit. But what was missing from that picture was how fast the king of all Mustangs, the Shelby GT500, could manage to lap the Nordschleife.
Ford never released any information or footage of the GT500 on the Nürburgring that we were aware of - that is, until the guys at SVTPerformance.com put in a request for Mustang videos. Among the clips they received was never-seen, in-car footage of the Shelby GT500 lapping the circuit. And boy did it hustle.
Although not quite official, the video seems to show the GT500 lapped the venerated German track in a touch under 7:40. That would make it a tick or two faster than the Camaro ZL1 - but what of the Z/28? By Chevy's quoted time, the Z/28 is still faster than the GT500, but SVTPerformance suggests GM may have fudged the numbers a bit and scrubbed half a second or so off their lap time.

Fiat boss Elkann being mentored by... Bill Ford?

Tue, 26 Mar 2013

Fiat Chairman John Elkann has been turning to an unusual source for advice on the car business. While speaking during an interview with The Detroit News, Elkann said he often asks Bill Ford Jr. for advice on how to proceed with the turnaround at Chrysler. "It's great to have the opportunity to share this with someone like Bill, who has experienced many things and gone through many things ... especially linked to Detroit." Elkann said.
As the Agnelli family heir, Elkann has inherited a long and fruitful friendship with the Ford family. While Giovanni Agnelli built his first Fiat four years before Henry Ford created his first vehicle, it was Ford that showed Agnelli the benefits of mass production and helped pave the way for what would become the Fiat empire.
Giovanni's grandson, Gianni, helped mentor Bill Ford when he was elected chairman of Ford Motor Company. Now, Ford is returning the favor by helping Elkann navigate the automotive industry's tumultuous waters.
