2005 Ford Crown Victoria Unmarked Police Interceptor, Mint, Low Miles, Gorgeous! on 2040-cars
Canal Winchester, Ohio, United States
This is one of the nicest examples of it's
kind available anywhere. This is a gorgeous, always unmarked United
States Federal Government unit that came out of service with the
Federal Bureau of Investigation in California in the fall of 2011 (at that time, it had only 18,000 miles on it). It now has only 31,379 miles. It was purchased by a meticulous enthusiast, and law-enforcement officer, here in Ohio and driven only in perfect conditions. It has never seen a winter, nor any salt or snow, and is absolutely rust and corrosion-free. It has been garage kept and is as close to new as you will find. It is finished in Silver Birch Clearcoat
Metallic, one of the most beautiful and rare colors available on the
Crown Victoria. If you are searching for the ultimate Crown Victoria
Police Interceptor, here you go...
You are viewing an absolutely beautiful, very low-mileage, always unmarked, loaded 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor with the coveted "Street Appearance Package". Recently out of service from United States Federal Government, Federal Bureau of Investigation in California, where it was assigned to one agent for it's entire life, with only 31,379 actual, documented miles on it. This is a beautiful example of a very rare, hard to find car in a very rare and very desirable color. The finish is absolutely beautiful and this vehicle has an
absolutely spotless Carfax report. It has never been involved in any
accidents. This unit has never been in regular police service and has never had a lightbar or decals installed. This unit includes all of the options you would expect...traction control, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, factory auxiliary police dome lamp, power trunk release, factory AM/FM/CD stereo, cruise control, power split-bench velour cloth front and velour rear seating w/dual fold-down center armrests, full factory carpeting and a heavy-duty, 8.8" 3.27 ratio "Traction-Lok" limited-slip rear differential. These items, of course, are just the beginning of the list of equipment on this car. In my years of buying
and selling police vehicles, I have had very few cars that come close
to the condition of these units, they are extremely well maintained,
actually over-maintained, and typically need no repairs. This
was a one-driver car, assigned to one federal agent throughout the
entire life of the car. It was then sold to a meticulous, picky owner who BABIED this car over the past two and one-half years, putting only 13,000 miles on it in that time. For those of you who know, that makes all of the
difference in the world when it comes to how these cars are maintained
and treated. It has NEVER been smoked in, looks as close to new as you
will find and has virtually zero wear on the interior, even on the
seating. The rear seat appears to have never been used. All of the factory manuals are included with the vehicle, and are in place in the glove box. The trunk compartment is extremely clean, and the original full size spare tire is in place. This
unit is also equipped with, of course, the full "Police Interceptor"
package which includes the 4.6-liter H.O. engine, 4-speed overdrive
heavy-duty transmission, 3.27 rear "Traction-Lok" differential, lateral bow (roof) reinforcement, 245-50-18 ultra-high performance
radials that are in beautiful condition and mounted on a brand-new set of factory, 18 X 8 "Marauder" alloy wheels with correct-appearing "Ford" logos (instead of the Mercury logos), stainless-steel dual exhaust with factory crossover pipe,
police-only lightweight balanced aluminum driveshaft, special
police-spec heavy-duty frame, 4-wheel disc brakes, severe-duty
suspension, heavy-duty cooling, certified 140-mph speedometer and much, much more. For those of you who know Crown Victorias, you are probably already aware that the 2004-2011 models are the years to have...2004 was the first year for the higher-horsepower engine, and 2005 was the first year for the larger, heavy-duty 31-spline rear axles. All
Crown Victorias produced from 2004-onward utilized the new, improved,
250-horsepower 4.6 liter V8 engine and are the fastest Crown Victorias
produced due to many changes that were made, mainly in the intake
system. Previously, the Police Interceptor produced 239 horsepower, but
the 2004-newer Police Interceptor increased that number to 250
horsepower due to the addition of a new "Marauder" air intake setup.
This included a new airbox that resembles the Mercury Marauder airbox
(raised airbox lid, deeper bottom), with a new, larger, integrated 80 mm
(3.1 in) mass airflow (MAF) sensor that is part of the airbox lid. This
allows for much more precise flow calibration and reduces the chances
of air leakage. The P71 zip tube (the flexible rubber hose between the
throttle body and MAF outlet) is also used to reduce NVH (noise,
vibration, and harshness) as well as transfer air from the airbox to the
throttle body with minimal flow resistance. Crown
Victorias like this one are becoming nearly extinct, so here's your
opportunity if you've been looking for one of the nicest you will find
in a rare and desirable color combination with ultra-low mileage. These are the Crown Victorias aficionados lust after, and this is a GORGEOUS example. It is very responsive, smooth-shifting and, of course, very fast. This
unit is in absolutely excellent overall condition, has been very well-maintained
and has little to none of the normal wear and tear you would expect to find on a
used police vehicle. This vehicle, as most used vehicles do,
will have imperfections...this typically includes; scratches, chips,
nicks, dings, etc....that being said, this car has nothing of any consequence that I am aware of and no known mechanical
defects. It runs and drives excellent. Please, keep in mind, we
strive to find the nicest used vehicles possible, but they are still
used vehicles. This
2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor will sell to the high
bidder at the end of the auction, providing the low reserve is met.
Please complete all inspections BEFORE bidding...if you win the auction,
you own the vehicle. I
am a law-enforcement officer as well and as such, work long hours so
you are free to call me as late in the evening as you like. I can be
reached anytime at (614) 893-3857. I will take calls 24/7 up until the
end of the auction. |

Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Scroll down below for all the details from Consumer Reports, if you're so inclined.
Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]
Sat, 18 Jan 2014We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.
Ford C-Max, Fusion hybrids subject of MPG lawsuit in California
Fri, 01 Mar 2013A California lawsuit over the fuel economy claims for the 2013 Ford C-Max was first reported back in December. Based on the numerous reports we've heard of disgruntled owners failing to get their car's EPA fuel economy ratings on the C-Max and 2013 Fusion Hybrid, we suspected there would be more to this story. The Detroit News is reporting that two California law firms are combining their lawsuits against Ford on this matter for "false and misleading" claims.
The article states that there are hundreds of C-Max and Fusion Hybrid owners who have joined the lawsuit, but the issue isn't limited to customers. In December, Consumer Reports extensively tested both the Fusion Hybrid and C-Max and found that both hybrids performed significantly worse than their EPA claims. This all comes just a few months after Hyundai and Kia took the unprecedented step of lowering the fuel economy ratings for all of their 2012 and 2013 model-year vehicles.
