Up for auction is my 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor in Colonial White with Charcoal black standard Police interior which includes carpet delete rubber floor covering and this car had a hard plastic prisoner back seat which was replaced with a taxi style black vynyl seat from a locker where the original nre seats were stored when the Sheriff Dept. added the prisoner gear.  The power lock rods were removed as were the inside door handles.  The parts removed are provided in the trunk as the sheriff put the parts back into the cars if requested.  There is still some stripes in the inside edges of the doors but doesn't show on the outside.  The paint job is still very good and the only sign of the roof lights is the plug in the roof where the wiring came through for the overhead system.  The fleet supervisor had a computer record of the transmission being replaced with a new one including the convertor at 151,000 at Gresham Ford near Portland a couple of years ago.  Other than that there were brake pads and tires and the usual stuff replaced.  Nothing else major was performed.  Once it got home here the intake manifold became leaky as some of these do and took out the spark plug resulting in lower power and shaking.  The manifold gaskets were replaced all and new spark plugs installed.  Also the wiper motor stopped so it was replaced.  Can't find anything else wrong with it now.  Nice hot heater this past Winter where our weather goes below zero for a few months up here in the mountains above 4000 feet.

This car runs superb and is willing to 130 easily and beyond as it was ordered with the lower optional 3:55 axle ratio.  The Police package also includes dual exhaust and posi-traction axle.  The car is quick but we also chipped it for a gain of another 50 horsepower.  All windows, locks, mirrors operate as does the spotlight and this car still has the Pitt maneuver front guard on it since these cars are no longer made they don't have to save the parts for new Crown Vics.  Look if you're h

ere looking you want a police car since probably you were 9 years old.  This car is a good one but I have 2 of them same year and want to keep my blue State Police one pictured nearby so this one can go.

The windows were tinted and there is a console made by a guy back east for these cars for after they lose their metal radio boxes and laptop they don't have an armrest between the seats nor storage and cupholders.  With this part they do now.  of course there are a few extra holes in the dash from mounting police gear adn the upholstery is worn a little on the Driver's seat from use.

Vaughn Gittin Jr. takes his dog for a drift

Tue, 09 Sep 2014

Vaughn Gittin Jr. spends a great deal of his workday going sideways, but he's usually alone in the endeavor. For a guy that is clearly a dog lover, we imagine that can get a bit lonely.
That won't be a problem for Gittin in this latest video, which features the racer hanging out with his good pal Brody (a dog) and everyone's favorite hot hatch, the Ford Fiesta ST.

Shelby GT500 and Roush Stage 3 go head to head at the drag strip

Wed, 07 Aug 2013

The Ford Mustang is a brilliantly affordable source of horsepower, with a base 300-plus-horsepower version available for well under $30,000. Jumping up to about $35,000 will get you a solid 420 horsepower from a high-revving V8, while those with some extra disposable income can get a pair of 600-plus-horsepower monsters. Both the Roush Stage 3 with its Phase 3 package and Ford's factory Shelby GT500 even crest the 650-horsepower mark, with 675 and 662 ponies, respectively.
Naturally, someone needed to find out which of these hi-po Mustangs was the quickest. And while this video is quite obviously a dealership commercial, at least there's some solid drag racing between two of the most powerful performance machines available for under $100,000.
With two NHRA drag racers at the wheel, the Stage 3 and GT500 go head to head for three races. Scroll down below to see the results in the full video.

The big dune jump and the damage done

Mon, 20 May 2013

The Silver Lake sand dunes see their fair share of well-built trophy trucks executing impressive jumps. Drivers build insane pieces of machinery for the express purpose of sailing through the air like mad men and women.
Mike Higgins is no stranger to the area. His heavily modified Ford trophy truck has gone flying through the sky on more than one occasion, but he recently bit off more than he could chew. After hitting a particularly lofty dune, Higgins went airborne for a ridiculous 180 feet before becoming intimately familiar with the finer points of gravity.
While Higgins nailed the jump, his landing fell short of wowing the judges. The impact very nearly broke his truck in two. Despite the mechanical mayhem, the driver walked away without a scratch, proving that occasionally miracles really do happen. You can check out the jump and the subsequent destruction below for yourself. Be warned: there's a fair bit of foul language.
