1992 Ford Crown Victoria Lx Sedan 4-door 4.6l on 2040-cars
Westhampton, New York, United States
Hi there i have a white 92 crown vic which is pretty hard to find now a days. Its got the trustworthy 4.6l V8 its got a lot of power. The transmission is really strong, has no problems. The car has some cosmetic issues, both front windows don't go down, driver side motor is bad passenger side window is just off the track i think, right rear has chipped paint and damage, nothing crazy, but the taillight is a bit tilted because of that. The passenger front door has a dent and the front right funder has a dent. Besides that the car is great, it has all the options, power everything, awesome comfy cloth seats, and an aftermarket radio deck, air ride suspension on the rear, premium sound system, has the all digital gauge cluster and has real rims, not the steelies with hubcaps. It gets about 18 city and 25 highway. It also has an all custom exhaust so it sounds GREAT high flow cats straight piped to 40 series flowmasters. Dual exhaust. Engine is clean interior is clean, trunk is HUGE. Car only has 102,XXX miles which isn't a lot for a 92. Car is a tank and is very safe! Has airbags! Tires are good for a while, will pass inspection. Has no codes no check engine no lights on the dash, car is great, heck if you wanted this would be a GREAT drag car project! I am the Second owner, and this is local pick up only, unless buyer pays and sets up a shipment plan.

Ford recalls 434k vehicles for several unrelated issues
Mon, 07 Apr 2014It seems that the hard winter in much of the country has been as rough on some Fords as it has on many people. The Blue Oval is recalling roughly 434,000 vehicles in two separate recalls, and one of them partially caused by the salt used to melt the snow on roads.
The first recall covers 385,750 2001-2004 Escape models in the Midwest, Northeast and Canada because a subframe could rust and eventually fail. This is partially due to the road salt used in those areas, and about 349,000 of the affected vehicles are in the US. To remedy the problem, dealers are installing a reinforcement cross brace on the frame to strengthen them. There has been one crash caused by the failure but no injuries. According to The Detroit News, this is not the first rust-related recall for Ford. It estimates the company has repaired over two million vehicles since 2010 for problems on vehicles related to the iron oxide, including the rear wheel wells of the Freestar minivan.
The second recall covers 48,950 2013-2014 Ford Fusion, Escape, C-MAX and Lincoln MKZ models because welds in their seatbacks don't meet National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards. The fault affects the front seats, and the sub-standard welds joining the setback to the recliner could increase the chance on injury. There have been no reported injuries or accidents caused by the problem, but there are 42,972 affected vehicles in the US and 4,744 in Canada.
How Ford plans to handle insurance and repair questions surrounding new aluminum-bodied F-150
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Building a car out of aluminum has a number of benefits - the lighter weight allows the vehicle to be more agile, more fuel efficient, make better use of its power and be more resistant to dings and dents. The downside to the advanced construction, though, is that repairs are both challenging and expensive. That's troubling for the new, aluminum-bodied Ford F-150, because it's kind of made a name for itself as a rugged, durable work vehicle.
How will the legions of Ford buyers cope when it comes time to insure and repair their new trucks? Well, according to Ford, it's expecting a ten-percent jump in insurance costs for the aluminum-bodied F-150, although Ford's truck marketing manager, Doug Scott, was quick to point out that the F-150 is generally cheaper to insure than its competition from Ram and General Motors. "At the end of the day, that's sort of a wash," Scott told Automotive News at last week's Detroit Auto Show. "We've spent a lot of time and feel very comfortable that that's not going to be an inhibitor."
The other issue facing Ford is the distinct lack of body shops that have the training or equipment to repair aluminum-bodied vehicles. AN cites an estimate from the Automotive Service Association claiming that of the 30,000 independent body shops in the US, less than 10 percent are able to work on aluminum.
Why Ford's Alan Mulally would be right for Microsoft, or any company
Thu, 03 Oct 2013
That Mulally was seriously being considered says a great deal about Microsoft and Mulally.
It appears that the chatter about Ford CEO Alan Mulally possibly leaving early to take over as CEO of Microsoft is losing air pretty fast. What's pretty interesting is that it got any traction in the first place.
