Early 1966 Ford Bronco Half Cab Halfcab on 2040-cars

Original unmolested 1966 Ford Bronco Half Cab. This half-cab was built in early September 1965 and could very well be the first Half-cab bronco ever produced. It  is in great original condition and still maintains most of it's original Ford paint. It has brand new tires, brand new exhaust from the engine to the rear of the bronco. The bench seat has just been recovered with the foam and springs getting replacement parts as well. It runs and drives great. The original six cylinder engine purrs like it should. The three speed manual shift transmission shifts perfectly and doesn't make any unusual noises. The bronco was ordered early in production and was one of the first bronco half-cabs produced. The earliest of the broncos had the extra long transfer case shifter (as can be seen in the pictures) and this one still has the original floor mat. This bronco was also ordered with the optional trim package which included AM radio that still works Outside rear view mirror, door arm rests, passenger and driver sunvisors, chrome front and rear bumpers, chrome gas cap and chrome trim rings on the taillights

UPDATE..... I have had a lot of questions. Let me start with this is a daily driver. I just drove this Bronco from my house (at 6300 feet  in the mountains of Utah)  to the muffler shop and Cabelas (at 4000 feet in the city) for a round trip of 175 miles. The bronco drives straight and does not pull left or right Just straight. No unusual noises. The motor never got over the halfway mark on the temperature gauge and the oil pressure was 45 PSI and steady at idle or 55 mph. The windshield wipers are VACUUM and work perfectly. The brakes are in great working condition and need nothing. I recently replaced the left rear wheel cylinder and overhauled the master cylinder. I did not replace the Master cylinder, I simply bought a rebuild kit and overhauled the ORIGINAL master cylinder to keep the original parts.

This is an extremely good daily driver and needs nothing (except a new owner) and will give many years of service to the new owner.

I have included more pictures of the interior for those needing to see the seat, dash, radio and speedometer..

Thanks and happy bidding
Randy

Ford confirms launch of new Tourneo vans and Ecosport in Europe for Geneva

Sun, 24 Feb 2013

We've already seen plenty of what the Geneva Motor Show will have in store for us in less than two weeks, but most of the confirmed debuts that were announced so far have generally been luxury or performance cars. Ford, on the other hand, will be showing off a couple of its new family-friendly models for European buyers to enjoy.
On the larger side of things, the full range of Tourneo vans (shown above) will be on display, including the introduction of the new Tourneo Courier model, but Ford will also be showing off the all-new EcoSport crossover, which is based on the automaker's Global B platform and will be positioned beneath the Kuga, better known here as the Escape. The subcompact EcoSport was originally unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show last April.

Shelby boosts production of 575-hp Raptor on early demand

Mon, 08 Apr 2013

Shelby American unveiled its all-new Shelby Raptor at the New York Auto Show last month, saying that it would build just 100 examples of its off-road bad boy, a pickup priced at $17,995 over the cost of the donor Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. But the Las Vegas outfit apparently underestimated just how popular the supercharged 575-horsepower 4x4 would actually be.
Strong early demand reportedly has Shelby singing a whole new tune, as the company is now saying it will build upwards of 500 units annually. While the increased production will likely make for at least 400 more happy owners, those who were on the original short list - possibly speculating on future values - might not be grinning as much. Needless to say, the company has assured everyone that each and every one of the modified Raptors will still be listed in the official Shelby registry.
Keep in mind that Ford isn't sitting idle on its trophy-truck-for-the-street, either. The company will reveal its own 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition this month.

2014 Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Ford Mustang

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

If you're a fan of Ford racing history, a Mustang worshiper or even just an avid follower of our yearly SEMA coverage, you may have heard the back story on the Race Red Mustang you see above. Back in 1964, Holman & Moody was tapped by the English Alan Mann Racing Team to race-prep three Mustangs for competition in the incredibly arduous 4,000-mile Tour de France Automobile rally. Competing mainly against Jaguar MkII saloons over 10 days and 17 stages, the H&M Mustangs took the top two places in the Touring class and the first-ever racing win for Ford's pony car.
Though the history of that first Mustang win hasn't been incredibly well known here in the States, the subsequent decades have seen plenty of racy versions of the car come and go. Last year at the SEMA show, we covered the brief debut of this living tribute to that piece of racing lore, the Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Mustang.
This limited-edition Mustang represents a kind of new venture for H&M, as the legendary racing shop has spent the last few decades earning its keep largely by restoring vintage racing cars. The urge to get back into the world of Ford and Mustang was powerful, however, what with the car's 50th anniversary looming and the current generation of 'Stang just about out the door.
