Reluctantly, I am selling my 1991 Ford Bronco. I have owned this truck for 2 1/2 years.  I purchased it off Ebay from a seller in Georgia.  The original owner was a Georgia city government and the Bronco was used as the City Surveyor's vehicle for nearly 20 years.  It originally had a 5.0 liter V8, that I swapped to a 4.9 liter I6 in the past 3 months.  E4OD 4 speed automatic transmission with Overdrive.  3.55 rear gears with an open differential.  Truck was repainted the factory color right before I purchased it.  The only rust on the body is right behind the roof drip rails which is a known issue with Broncos.  Easy to fix or have fixed by a professional.

Odometer shows 315 miles, but it is in excess of it's mechanical limits.

It is in great running shape.  I would be comfortable driving this truck anywhere.

Here is what has been done to this truck:
Newly rebuilt Inline six (4.9/300) installed.  Currently has about 1800 miles on the new engine.  Truck originally had a 5.0/302.
New Offenhauser Dual Plane Intake Manifold
New Edelbrock 500 Carburetor
New Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator(Using Stock Fuel pump in the tank).
New Throttle Position Sensor mounted to the Carb.(Needed for the Transmission Controller)
New MSD Ignition Box
New MSD TFI Coil
New MSD Tach Adapter(for stock tachometer in dash)
New Heavy Duty 2 Row Radiator ( Truck will idle in traffic at 180 on a 95 degree day for as long as you want).
New 180 degree thermostat
New 29,000 BTU B&M Transmission Cooler(Trans temps hasn't gone higher than 160 since putting it on)
New Vacuum Distributor
New Spark Plugs
New Interior Carpet
New Leather Seat Covers Front and Back
New Interior Roof Liner
New Roof Mounted CD Player
New 4 gauge pod mounted on Driver Side A pillar including Vacuum, Trans Temp, Oil Pressure & Water Temp Gauges.
New Rear Window Motor; Rear window works great from the dash or the rear key.
Push Button Start
Stock EFI cast iron manifolds that flow as good as headers, and will last forever
Magnaflow High Flow Catalytic Converter
Tire were purchased new when truck was purchased.  They are 31x10.50x15 General Grabber AT2's, All Terrain Tires with about 50% tread left.  They are warranted for 60,000 miles.

Items that may need attention:
Small roof rust behind drip rails as previously mentioned
Passenger door window crank needs to be replaced
Windshield leaks in upper passenger corner when there is a hard rain.  It just needs to be resealed.
Transmission is the original, but shifts into and out of all gears as it should.  Trans fluid was changed early this year.

This is an extremely nice Bronco that is ready to be driven anywhere.  Much has been done to it and I hate to let it go, but go it must.

Please ask any questions you have before committing to purchase.  I am happy to answer any & all questions.

Do not commit to buy unless you have already arranged to have the funds to complete the purchase.

Thanks for looking and good luck.  Someone is going to take home a really nice Bronco to enjoy!

2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid

No Prius Killer
As much as we enthusiasts like to rail on the lowly Toyota Prius as the harbinger of death for all we hold dear, there's no denying the machine's absolute and interminable grip on the hybrid hatchback market in the United States. Toyota has so thoroughly sunk its teeth into the segment that you can clearly hear the automaker's incisors clacking against one another with the conclusion of each financial quarter. And there's little wonder why. Buyers can plop down less than $25,000 and have a runabout that can return up to an estimated 51 miles per gallon in the city, leaving every other entry on the market with precious little gristle to gnaw on.
Enter the 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid. With its claimed 47 mpg combined, the funky little hatch from Europe already falls behind the 48 mpg city offered by the Prius, but that marginal sacrifice in fuel economy could be a small price to pay for buyers who want a credible alternative to the stalwart Toyota. Unfortunately, like the Fusion Hybrid, the C-Max Hybrid had trouble even approaching its Environmental Protection Agency estimates during our time with the car.

Ford Q3 pretax profits drop to $1.18B

Fri, 24 Oct 2014

Following positive third quarter financial results recently from General Motors, rival Ford took a tumble in Q3. The automaker posted pre-tax profits of $1.18 billion, compared to about $2.59 billion in Q3 2013, a drop of around 54 percent. Net income also suffered with $835 million made in the quarter, versus $1.272 billion last year, a decline of about 34 percent. The Blue Oval blamed the gloomy figures on three reasons in its release: "lower volume, higher warranty costs and adverse balance sheet exchange effects."
There were problems of one kind or another in practically every region. North America experienced higher warranty costs than expected, partially due to recalls. The sales volume for the quarter was 665,000 units, versus 725,000 in Q3 2013, and pre-tax results amounted to $1.41 billion versus $2.296 billion last year.
South America and Europe both posted worse pre-tax results than last year. On the bright side, European volume was up slightly to 321,000 vehicles, from 303,000 in Q3 2013. The Middle East and Africa also lost $15 million, but that was an improvement compared to the $25 million loss previously experienced in this region.

Preserving automotive history costs big bucks

$1.8 million is spent each year to maintain GM's fleet of 600 production and concept cars.
When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
